Overview: This is an opportunity to join the Web Services team in our new Customer Experience Office (CXO) where you will directly influence improvements to the customer experience of our corporate website! The Web Design Specialist will be responsible for design, creation and development of webpages using Sitecore, a Content Management System (CMS). You’ll work closely with Sitecore developers gathering requirements for enhancements or new features, testing, and actively participating in releases by creating deployment steps, publishing content and trouble shooting. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and collaborating with stakeholders to create useful and effective user experiences.
Responsibilities: Job Responsibilities:<br /> <ul> <li>Design, create and develop website pages using Sitecore, a Content Management System (CMS)</li> <li>Visualize and create concepts from the idea phase all the way to the final product</li> <li>Work directly with Sitecore developers by developing solutions using strong CSS skills and JavaScript.</li> <li>Make design prototypes with HTML, CSS and JavaScript</li> <li>Create requirements document for new features</li> <li>Prepare deployment steps for scheduled releases</li> <li>Work with Quality Assurance on resolving defects Perform testing of webpages before publishing</li> <li>Actively contribute in project meetings to discuss the business unit&rsquo;s needs</li> <li>Update and maintain existing pages, including content updates, visual enhancements, landing page creation</li> <li>Create HTML for email campaigns</li> <li>Knowledge of SEO best practices</li> <li>Ability to debug and troubleshoot webpages</li> <li>Research and test new online tools</li> <li>Maintain and improve website to support customer usability and Marketing goals</li> <li>Notify management promptly about website issues</li> <li>Ability to work at a fast pace Dependable, reliable and attention to detail</li> <li>Ability to work a flexible schedule &ndash; will need to work off hours for some deployments</li> <li>Document all website changes using Microsoft Sharepoint</li> <li>Analyze and make recommendations based on the competitor activity report on a quarterly basis</li> <li>Assist other team members within the web team</li> <li>Must be team-oriented, dedicated and self-motivated</li> </ul>
Requirements: Required Qualifications &amp; Experience: ​ <br /> <ul> <li>3-5 years of experience in Web Design</li> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Graphic Design preferred</li> <li>Experience working with a CMS (Content Management System), preferably Sitecore</li> <li>Highly skilled in CSS and HTML Ability to test functionality and perform quality assurance (cross browser testing) Responsive Web Design</li> <li>Must think strategically</li> <li>Good sense of design (typography, color, layout, etc.)</li> <li>High attention to detail with accuracy and consistency</li> <li>Strong verbal and written communication skills</li> <li>Maintain knowledge and awareness of new trends, tools and techniques</li> <li>Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite</li> </ul> NJM is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
