Overview: Our Special Investigations Department (SIU) has a summer intern opportunity available at our West Trenton, NJ location. The intern will gain work experience while performing meaningful tasks and projects. This internship is part of a structured program that will provide the student with challenging work assignments/projects, an overall view of the business and departmental processes, networking opportunities and an opportunity to developwork life skills.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Assist SIU&rsquo;s analytical team in anti-fraud efforts by conducting data analysis and intelligence gathering.</li> <li>Leverage internal and external data sources to support SIU&rsquo;s major case teams in policy and claim investigations.</li> <li>Responsible for triaging and analyzing scorecards and outputs from predictive models for Personal Injury Protection (PIP) claims and Medical Providers.</li> <li>Conduct data mining efforts to explore anomalies, conduct statistical analysis and identify patterns and trends related to fraudulent policies and claims.</li> <li>Provide analytical support to the SIU as needed to provide metrics and statistics.</li> <li>Articulate and convey&nbsp;analyses into information that can be consumed by non-technical staff.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Currently&nbsp;completing sophomore or junior year, or be a first semester senior.</li> <li>Majoring in: Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Data Analytics.</li> <li>Minimum&nbsp;3.0 GPA.</li> <li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.</li> <li>Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, functions and data visuals).</li> <li>Experience using SAS is a plus.</li> <li>Data Analysis skills.</li> <li>Organizational skills and attention to detail.</li> <li>Knowledge in insurance is a plus.</li> <li>Pro-active and self-motivated.</li> <li>Ability to listen effectively and actively engage others.</li> <li>Eligible to work in the United States.</li> <li>Pass NJM pre-employment background check and drug test.</li> </ul>
