Overview: <p>This is an exciting time to join NJM Insurance Group as we continue to expand into new markets!&nbsp; With a nationally ranked reputation for outstanding customer service and a history that spans more than a century, NJM is a leading provider of worker&rsquo;s compensation, automobile and homeowners insurance.</p> <p>Our General Claims Department is seeking Claims Data Analyst whose main focus will be on data and reporting efforts in support of the business unit.&nbsp; The official NJM job title is Data Management Analyst.</p> <p>Individuals within this path maintain knowledge of business processes, regulatory issues and technology systems and are readily identified as department Subject Matter Experts for data and reporting projects.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
Responsibilities: <p><strong>Job Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Participate in data requirement elicitation, analysis, mapping and testing activities for the business technology solutions efforts</li> <li>Validates accuracy of data requirements throughout the SDLC process</li> <li>Communicates project status and provides updates to department management</li> <li>Troubleshoot data and reporting related production issues&nbsp;</li> <li>Promote compliance of data and reporting directives through education and awareness efforts</li> <li>Collaborate with company-wide analysts to ensure effective decision making related to data projects&nbsp;</li> <li>Serve as a data management advocate within the business unit as well as at an enterprise level</li> <li>Represent the department in cross department efforts and works collaboratively with cross functional business planning team to address department's data and reporting needs</li> <li>Creates and runs SQL queries by selecting data elements from the Claim&rsquo;s database and filtering/sorting the data in order to send to requested audience&nbsp;</li> <li>Assists or leads detailed analysis for data-driven projects such as staffing assessments, future state workload projections and strategic initiatives&nbsp;</li> <li>Assists with quality assurance by performing data cleanups and reporting findings for trends to appropriate management level, as required</li> <li>Assists the department by compiling reports and creating or modifying dashboards which identify current and future state trends including and increases or decreases in frequency or severity in a repeatable format</li> <li>Assists the department in keeping data driven documentation up to date in order to reference in real time for support of key decisions</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>Required Qualifications &amp; Experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Mathematics, Data Analytics or relevant field preferred</li> <li>Minimum of 1-3 years of demonstrated knowledge&nbsp;of Auto and Homeowner claim related business processes&nbsp;</li> <li>Relevant&nbsp; experience identifying and remediating data quality issues</li> <li>Foundational knowledge of actuarial principles</li> <li>Demonstrated experience is creating and writing complex SQL queries</li> <li>Sound knowledge of database structures</li> <li>Proficiency in using Excel, complex formatting and&nbsp; use of functions such as Pivot tables</li> <li>Ability to upload and analyze data and create/modify dashboards using analytic software products such Power BI or Incorta</li> <li>Must be organized, driven and display leadership abilities</li> <li>Must have the ability to work in a team setting as well as independently to achieve goals</li> </ul> <p><br />NJM is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
