Overview: Our General Claims Legal Department seeks an attorney with a minimum of three years of relevant experience in handling New Jersey and Pennsylvania general insurance defense work, principally related to bodily injury and property damage claims involving auto accident and premises liability and coverage issues.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Supervise the handling of insurance defense litigation by developing and overseeing litigation strategy with outside defense counsel.</li> <li>Provide legal advice to the General Claims department regarding personal and commercial auto, homeowners and general liability coverage and other claims questions.</li> <li>Provide claims-related advice regarding regulatory matters and fraud investigations.</li> <li>Monitor and analyze developments in relevant case law, statutes and regulations.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>JD and admission to NJ bar required, additional admission to PA bar desired</li> <li>3-5 years of experience handling PA and NJ auto and general insurance defense work; NJ PIP experience beneficial</li> <li>Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills&nbsp;</li> <li>Must be decisive and have strong organizational and time management skills</li> <li>Coverage litigation, trial and arbitration experience in PA is preferred, and a judicial clerkship is beneficial&nbsp;</li> </ul>
