Overview: Requisition Number: R0002366<br /> <br /> Acts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for administration of Windows Active Directory environment. Responsible for the support of complex Windows AD/IIS systems and troubleshooting problem as required. Collaborates with Windows Systems Architects on new initiatives and systems as well as support of current production environment. Manages file and print and application servers, including creating accounts in a multiple domains, creating print queues, troubleshooting webservers, and resolving issues. <br /> <br />Incumbent in this position is responsible for enterprise level user and Organizational Unit management in different Active Directory Domain environments. Applies specific professional and technical knowledge to perform assignments that are broadly defined and require judgment and creativity to complete. Independently solves a full range of problems requiring the identification and analysis of complex variables. Takes action to solve problems/issues that routinely arise in areas of assigned responsibility, but may receive guidance or expertise from higher-level staff on more complex problems. Establishes processes/procedures to ensure the effective and efficient operation of function. Serves as a technical resource across multiple disciplines. May provide work direction to lower level employees.<br /><br />
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Performs User Account Administration, Group Policy Administration, Directory Permissions, Active Directory Domain/OU Administration, MS Exchange User Administration, and Public Folder administration.</li> <li>Performs Login Script Development, and Administration. Manages outbound facing Website registration, and redirects of internal sites as needed.</li> <li>Manages and maintains IP Management of the Academies Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), and DNS.</li> <li>Manages network printers, queues, Domain Name System (DNS) updates, account administration, and Web server Redirects.</li> <li>Manages RSA's SecurID user accounts, hard and soft token activation and distribution. </li> <li>Manages Internal and External Certificates of the different systems.</li> <li>Manages Remote user access accounts, and permissions within the internal Network.</li> <li>Participates in change management process, and administer multiple systems.</li> <li>Manages, allocates, and monitors disk space usage across all National Academies' file servers. Manages MS System Center Configuration Manager, and keeps workstations updated in Infoblox, and AD.</li> <li>Monitors trouble ticket system administration reports on a daily basis to ensure service level agreement (SLA) compliance.</li> <li>May perform UNIX and or Linux User Administration.</li> <li>May create documentation outlining work processes, user guides, and user manuals, etc. May develop and maintain user training programs.</li> <li>Produces, analyzes, and summarizes reports as required. </li> <li>Proactively identifies notable trends in systems administration. Requirements: <p><strong>Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</strong> &nbsp;Full working knowledge of Microsoft Back Office products such as SCCM, and SQL databases. &nbsp;Full working knowledge and experience on Administration of Cloud Based Cloud Computing Services (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS). Experience with most phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities.&nbsp; Ability to solve problems of substantial variety and complexity.&nbsp; Ability to undertake tasks broad in nature, requiring ingenuity, and originality.&nbsp; Ability to serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.&nbsp; Ability to operate independently, and exercise significant latitude for independent judgment, discretion, and action. &nbsp;Ability to work successfully in a team environment.&nbsp; Ability to develop relationships with co-workers and employees in other National Academies&rsquo; departments through effective communication. &nbsp;Good customer service &amp; troubleshooting skills.&nbsp; Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to effectively interact with all levels of employees.</p> <p><strong>Minimum Education/Training Requirements:</strong> &nbsp;Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent knowledge.</p> <p><strong>Minimum Experience:</strong> &nbsp;Four years of related professional experience in an information technology environment including Microsoft Windows and Networking. Experience with UNIX and Linux User Administration preferred.</p> <p><strong>Physical Capabilities:</strong> &nbsp;Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Required Licenses, Certification or Registration:</strong> &nbsp;Microsoft Certified Engineer (MCSE) preferred..</p> <p><strong>Supervisory Responsibilities/Controls:</strong> &nbsp;Reports to Manager of Systems Administration.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Compensation Range: </strong>The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine support equity, fairness, and transparency in our compensation programs. An estimated compensation range for this position is $88,450 - $121,620. Compensation offered to the selected candidate will be based on the candidate&rsquo;s relevant knowledge, skills, and work experience, commensurate with compensation of current employees in comparable positions with similar knowledge, skills, and work experience, and subject to budget parameters.
