Overview: Requisition Number: R0002515<br /> <br /> <strong>Job Summary:</strong><br />The temporary college hire program at the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) offers an introduction to journal publishing, science communications, data analytics, recruiting, and marketing at one of the top multidisciplinary scientific journals in the world.<br /><br />As a temporary college hire at PNAS, your role will involve hands-on experience in analyzing, curating, and developing recruiting content, educating the team on trending and emerging topics in science, and working collaboratively across multiple units of the journal. Throughout the opportunity, collaboration with various PNAS teams, including Recruiting, Digital Products and Platforms, and Marketing, will deepen your understanding of how each department contributes to the journal's strategic goals. By the end of the program, you will have cultivated a robust portfolio comprising recruiting assets, acquired knowledge of scientific databases and data analytics, and gained valuable experience in advancing initiatives within a prominent scientific publication.<br /><br /><strong>Application Process:</strong> <br />Submit your comprehensive application including a resume or CV, a cover letter detailing your interests and motivations related to the posting, and your academic transcripts. Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Assist the Recruiting and Marketing teams in preparing an early-career researcher workshop.</li> <li>Use various databases (e.g., Dimensions, Web of Science, etc.) to identify potential authors from Global South for recruiting purposes.</li> <li>Identify and analyze emerging and trending topics in science for recruiting purposes.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proven data analytic skills. Technical writing skills are a bonus, but not a requirement.</li> <li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.</li> <li>Familiarity with or interest in scientific research.</li> <li>Curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving skills.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Academic Credit:</strong><br />PNAS welcomes the opportunity to work cooperatively with schools seeking to grant academic credit for work performed. Applicants are encouraged to initiate arrangements for credit with their college or university. PNAS does not grant academic credit.<br /><strong><br />Minimum Education/Training Requirements: &nbsp;</strong>High school diploma, GED, or equivalent knowledge. Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree college or university program.
