Responsibilities: <ul> <li>As a member of a dynamic Interprofessional team, you will be responsible for implementing the three philosophies of Therapeutic Recreation: Functional Intervention, Leisure Education and Recreation Participation.</li> <li>You will work as a collaborative and active member of the team to identify discharge goals and to work with patients and families to achieve these goals.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, or related degree plus a post-graduate Therapeutic Recreation Diploma.</li> <li>Current membership with Therapeutic Recreation Ontario.</li> <li>A minimum of one year of experience in a health care facility. Previous experience in a rehab and complex continuing care environment is a definite asset.</li> <li>Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate quality patient-centred care programs for specific patient populations.</li> <li>Knowledge of therapeutic recreation resources available in the York Region is an asset.</li> <li>Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.</li> <li>Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.</li> <li>Demonstrated good attendance record with the ability to maintain this same standard.</li> <li>Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital-related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Who we are:</strong></p> <p>Oak Valley Health is one of Ontario&rsquo;s leading community healthcare <span class="WDH1">organizations.&nbsp;Across</span> our two sites (Markham and Uxbridge) and Reactivation Care Centre (RCC), we provide high quality, patient-centred care to more than 468,000 patients each year.
