Overview: To develop healthy self-esteem and social competency in children and to build collaborative relationships among children, families, staff, mental health professionals and the larger community. To enhance awareness and understanding of child development and how behavioral therapy contributes to the wellness of all children and families.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Create and implement positive behavior support plans, including providing observations and strategies to teachers, support staff, and parents/caregivers during Positive Strategy Interventions. Maintain confidentiality regarding student behavior plans and the information discussed during PSI meetings.</li> <li>Conduct child development training for parents and staff.</li> <li>Model for teachers in the classroom appropriate effective behavioral interventions that support child development and well-being.</li> <li>Complete all reporting requirements.</li> <li>Carries out all other duties as assigned by supervisor.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree required in psychology or related subject. Master's Degree preferred. BCaBA (Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst) or BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) preferred.</li> <li>One (1) year of experience in early childhood education and training or equivalent combination.</li> <li>One (1) year of experience with the ASQ (Ages and Stages), DECA, and Second Step.</li> <li>One (1) year experience working with low income, preschool families of diverse racial, social and cultural backgrounds.</li> <li>Experience working with the High Scope curriculum and ABA Therapy or Head Start preferred.</li> <li>Valid Michigan Driver&rsquo;s License required. Reliable transportation to visit Early Head Start and Head Start sites throughout Oakland County.</li> </ul> <br /><br /><strong>Hours &amp; Wage:</strong> <br /><br />$19.44 per hour - Bachelor's Degree <br />$20.44 per hour - Master's Degree <br />40 hours per week; 44 weeks per year
