The clerk/receptionist is a valuable member of the team and has a significant impact on the efficient and effective operation of this clinic. The successful candidate will be responsible for both clerical and receptionist duties.<br /><br /></p> <p><strong>Work Schedule:</strong></p> <p>The successful candidate will need to be available to work Monday to Friday, 3.75- and 7.5-hour shifts. Hours of work could be between 0800h - 1800h with potential shifts as follows: 0800h - 1600h, 0830h - 1630h, 0900h - 1700h, 0930h - 1730h, 1000h - 1800h.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>Please note, schedules may change due to operational needs.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Compensation:</strong></p> <p>Band CUP C03:</p> <p>$25.93 - $29.17/hour</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Scheduling clinic appointments for initial consultation and follow-up visits including Diagnostic testing/surgical procedures that is required.</li> <li>Greeting patients, answering and directing telephone calls to the appropriate personnel.</li> <li>Follow-up of telephone reminder appointments to patients as required.</li> <li>Ordering and maintaining office supplies.</li> <li>Entering lab orders.</li> <li>Photocopying, filing.</li> <li>Compiling and/or photocopying reports to send to various outside agencies.</li> <li>Using the Arthur Health software program to receive notifications of referrals.</li> <li>Ensuring documentation is completed and uploaded into the Arthur Health.</li> <li>Facilitating communication with WSIB and OWN network.</li> <li>Troubleshooting and problem-solving.</li> <li>Ensuring timelines are met.</li> <li>Performing special projects as assigned.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Previous medical reception/clerical experience required, in a clinic/outpatient setting Surgical Outpatient Hospital Clinic Experience required.</li> <li>2 &ndash; 5 years&rsquo; relevant experience within the past five years.</li> <li>Knowledge of and/or completion of a medical terminology course.</li> <li>Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office tools, Meditech experience required.</li> <li>Previous experience with patient scheduling systems is required.</li> <li>Previous experience with Arthur Health documentation system preferred.</li> <li>Experience with scheduling diagnostic testing and lab testing.</li> <li>Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.</li> <li>Excellent public relations and communication skills with a pleasant telephone manner.</li> <li>Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively as a member of the team.</li> <li>Evidence of good attention to detail.</li> <li>Excellent organizational skills.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an interprofessional team as well as independently.</li> <li>Demonstrated good attendance and work performance record with the ability to maintain this same standard.</li> <li>Demonstrated commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital-related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required.</li> </ul> <br /><br /> <p><strong>Who we are:</strong></p> <p>Oak Valley Health is one of Ontario&rsquo;s leading community healthcare organizations.&nbsp;Across our two sites (Markham and Uxbridge) and Reactivation Care Centre (RCC), we provide high quality, patient-centred care to more than 468,000 patients each year.
