<strong>We are looking for a Aquatics Director<span id="job_summary" class="summary">&nbsp;to oversee all swimming pool operations and ensure the safety and enjoyment of members, their families and their guests who utilize the pool area.&nbsp; This is a seasonal position that begins mid-May and end Labor Day.</span></strong>

<p>Founded in 1916, Oakland Hills Country Club has, and will continue to play a significant role in the history of golf in the United States. Walter Hagen, five time PGA Champion, was the club's first head professional. The South Course has played host to 17 Major Championships including: six U.S. Opens; two U.S. Senior Opens; U.S. Women&rsquo;s Amateur; two U.S. Men&rsquo;s Amateurs; Western Open; the Carling World Open; the 35th Ryder Cup in 2004; and three PGA Championships--including the 90th PGA Championship in 2008. Overview: <p>Oversees all swimming pool operations including Club policies and procedures, first aid, scheduling of the staff, limited pool maintenance, swim lessons and other various aquatic programs.&nbsp; Ability to work a flexible work schedule that may include evenings, weekdays, weekends and holidays.</p>

Requirements: <ul> <li>&nbsp;Is prepared for work</li> <li>Present and on time for scheduled work.&nbsp; Work clothing is complete, clean and pressed.</li> <li>Effectively communicates, develops harmony &amp; positive working relationships with all departments and staff at all levels.</li> <li>Effectively trains, schedules and supervises pool staff.</li> <li>Prioritizes daily work assignments and performs daily duties in the most efficient manner.</li> <li>Submits time sheets to the payroll department on a timely basis.</li> <li>Accurate record keeping and billing of pool guest fees.</li> <li>Knows Club events schedules</li> <li>Maintains order in the pool and adjoining areas</li> <li>Ensure proper stock items are in place at the beginning of each shift (towels, sunscreen, etc.).</li> <li>Pool area is clean and organized at all times.</li> <li>Inspects facilities for cleanliness; completes general pool cleaning and maintenance duties.</li> <li>Performs pool chemical checks using water test kid and records readings.&nbsp; Adjusts chemicals for water imbalances.</li> <li>Provides general information on pool operations to members and their guests.</li> <li>Supervises the maintenance of equipment and supplies. Ensures that all pool equipment is operated correctly and stored safely.</li> <li>Minimizes and/or eliminate safety hazards.&nbsp; Investigates complaints and accidents and fills out appropriate forms to document.</li> <li>Head Coach for Club Swim Team.</li> <li>Teaches techniques and methods of swimming instruction for all age and skill levels.</li> <li>Sets up pool for various activities such as laps, classes, &nbsp;and swim meets.</li> <li>Coordinates with Catering for proper set up for swim meets or other swim events.</li> <li>Creates a safe and fun atmosphere for staff and members.</li> <li>Markets club activities, products and services to members and guests.</li> <li>Appropriately suggests any club events that are up coming.</li> <li>Encourages member participation in club events and activities.</li> <li>Provides quality experiences for all members, guests and staff.</li> <li>Acknowledges members, guests, and staff promptly, making eye contact and smiling.</li> <li>Acts as an emissary of member needs and requests by: <ul> <li>Communicate pleasantly and positively.</li> <li>Greeting members by name (i.e. Mr.______, Mrs.____ ) whenever possible.
