Overview: <p>Provide food and beverage service to members and their guests by performing appropriate room/table set up, taking and serving food and beverage orders and using proper service techniques.</p>
Responsibilities: <h1>Is prepared for work:</h1> <ul> <li>Present, in uniform, on time for scheduled work.</li> <li>Work clothing/uniform is complete, clean, and pressed.</li> <li>Attends pre-post meetings as scheduled.</li> <li>Knows club events schedule</li> <li>Read and understands function/party sheets and anticipates needs that can be resolved prior to problem development</li> </ul> <p>Ensures side work, set up, and clean up are completed:</p> <ul> <li>Ensure proper stock items are in place at the beginning of each shift in accordance with assigned side work.</li> <li>Section is clean and organized at all times. <ul> <li>Clean up is complete</li> </ul> </li> <li>Resets tables and rooms immediately when members depart.</li> <li>Maintains services until relieved by a supervisor for breaks or lunch/dinner unless approved by a supervisor.</li> <li>Complete all assigned closing side work or additional duties as assigned by a supervisor.</li> <li>Always get approval from a supervisor when leaving the floor or ending a shift.</li> <li>Performs other duties as assigned or as necessary.</li> </ul> <p>Provides Food and Beverage Services:</p> <ul> <li>Seat members and guests if appropriate.</li> <li>Promptly distributes menus/wine lists.</li> <li>While guests decide upon menu options, answers all questions and suggests menu items.</li> <li>Uses pivot point system for taking orders.</li> <li>Has complete knowledge of menu including preparations, accompaniments, and ingredients.</li> <li>Correctly sends orders to kitchen using computer system and clearly and accurately informs cooks of special instructions, dietary requirements, and any particular needs of members and guests.</li> <li>Assemble food orders on tray with additional items from each station.</li> <li>Verify accuracy of food before delivery, ensuring accurate number of entrees/courses are ready before delivering to table.</li> <li>Practices proper service techniques when serving all food and beverage.</li> <li>Member services/expense sheets (chits) are properly presented to the member.</li> </ul> <p>Maintain service to members and guests:</p> <ul> <li>Empty ashtrays if smoking is permitted in the area. (No more than 2 completed smoking materials in ashtray).</li> <li>Solicits additional orders as required/requested (i.e. drinks, accompaniments).</li> <li>Clears each place setting before moving on to the next course, utilizing a tray.</li> <li>Proper service sequence and time guidelines are consistently followed as stated in the server training manual.</li> <li>Has the ability to ring in orders to ensure timing standards are met depending on business trends.</li> <li>Consistently demonstrates ability to server five or more tables with only limited assistance.</li> <li>Assists other servers to ensure quality services.</li> <li>Suggests and serve dessert, coffee and/or after dinner drinks.</li> <li>Continues to serve coffee (refills) through out the departure of guests.</li> </ul> <p>Maintains records:</p> <ul> <li>Accurately enters orders into the POS system.</li> <li>Verifies accuracy of prices and other charges on all member/services of expense sheets (chits).</li> <li>Turns in all chits in order of number sequence on a daily, by shift, basis to designated area.</li> <li>Trouble shoots POS data entry problems.</li> <li>Punches in and out on the correct time card.</li> </ul> <p>Markets club activities, products and services to members and guests:</p> <ul> <li>Appropriately suggests food and beverage services for members&rsquo; use/consumption including specials, appetizers, desserts, and select wines.</li> <li>Encourages member participation in club events and activities.</li> <li>Suggests ideas to enhance food/beverage services.</li> </ul> <p>Provides quality experiences for all members, guests and staff:</p> <ul> <li>Acknowledges members, guests, and staff promptly, making eye contact and smiling.</li> <li>Acts as an emissary of member needs and requests by:</li> <li>Communicate pleasantly and positively.</li> <li>Greeting members by name (i.e. Mr.______, Mrs.____) whenever possible. First name basis only with co-workers.</li> <li>Solicits opportunities for assistance to members.</li> <li>Responds timely to the urgency of the member/guests needs.</li> <li>Accepts responsibility for problems which may develop regardless of the cause.</li> <li>Uses proper phone etiquette at all times.</li> <li>Trains new staff correctly and completely.</li> <li>Demonstrates proficiency in all areas of service (i.e. main dining room, grille room, mixed grille, banquets and wine service).</li> </ul> <p>Alcohol Awareness:</p> <ul> <li>Compliance with state alcohol sales laws.</li> <li>Appropriate use of knowledge of member/guest drink/alcohol consumption and use of necessary involvement when too much is served.</li> <li>Completion of Alcohol Awareness Program (Set by Club) and receipt of Certificate</li> </ul> <p>Adherence to staff mission statement:</p> <ul> <li>We are committed to sustained excellence in the quality of services and products provided to our members and fellow staff.</li> <li>&ldquo;Continuous improvement&rdquo; in our efficiencies, services and products will reinforce the Clubs value to our members.</li> <li>Maintaining and enhancing club relationships that are mutually appreciative, responsive, and supportive of members and fellow staff will positively distinguish us from other organizations.</li> <li>Easy to work with.</li> <li>Regularly gets along with other staff members.</li> <li>Shows respect for others and the workplace.</li> <li>Handles problem resolution with other staff and managers in a professional and appropriate manner.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Education: Ability to read and write</li> <li>Skill: Customer Service Skills</li> <li>Previous food and beverage experience preferred</li> <li>Certifications: Alcohol Awareness Certification</li> <li>Physical Demands: Some bending, stooping and standing and walking for long periods.&nbsp; Must be able to move trays up to 40 pounds above the shoulder.&nbsp; Pushing and lifting of trash, linen bags, and quantities of ice. To include room set up.</li> </ul>
