Founded in 1916, Oakland Hills Country Club has, and will continue to play a significant role in the history of golf in the United States. Walter Hagen, five time PGA Champion, was the club's first head professional. The South Course has played host to 16 Major Championships including: six U.S. Opens; two U.S. Senior Opens; U.S. Women&rsquo;s Amateur; U.S. Men&rsquo;s Amateur; Western Open; the Carling World Open; the 35th Ryder Cup in 2004; and three PGA Championships -- including the 90th PGA Championship in 2008. Some of the greatest players ever to play the game including Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, and Ben Hogan have competed and won on the famed South Course, also known as "The Monster". Overview: Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.&nbsp; Maintain adequate supplies at all bars.&nbsp; Maintain cleanliness in bars and bar areas to comply with applicable health laws/requirements and club standards.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Is prepared for work. (15%) <ul> <li>Work clothing/uniform is complete and clean.</li> <li>Present and on time for scheduled work.</li> <li>Knows club events schedule. Reads and understands function sheets and anticipates needs.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Ensures side work, set up and clean up are completed. (18%) <ul> <li>Inspects the bar and bar binder prior to opening to ensure that adequate supplies are available.</li> <li>Bar and assigned areas are clean and organized.</li> <li>Clean ice bins are kept adequately stocked.</li> <li>Trash is removed and disposed.</li> <li>Glassware is stocked.</li> <li>Periodic deep cleaning is performed according to schedule.</li> <li>Mixes are prepared properly.</li> <li>Appropriate garnished are prepared and utilized.</li> <li>Appropriately dates open juice, wine, and mixers.</li> <li>Takes open wine from the Banquet areas after functions to be used in a la carte if no function is being held the next day.</li> <li>Performs other duties as assigned or as necessary.</li> <li>Maintains appropriate stock levels of all wines.</li> <li>Complete all assigned closing side work or additional duties as assigned by supervisor.</li> <li>Maintains and reviews bar binder on a daily basis.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <ul> <li>Provides Food and Beverage Services. (22%) <ul> <li>Drinks are mixed and served according to club approved recipes.</li> <li>Displays complete knowledge of bar items available to members and guests.</li> <li>Utilizes correct glassware for type of drink ordered.</li> <li>Demonstrates knowledge of all bar/drink procedures (i.e. pouring drafts, opening wine, preparation of up martini)</li> <li>Bar trays are carried with one hand and drinks served with the other.</li> <li>Accurately anticipates needs for expected activity/volume levels.</li> <li>Maintains services until relieved for breaks or lunch/dinner unless approved by supervisor.</li> <li>Abides by the drink ticket policy. Does not pour drinks with out the server ringing it into the POS system unless approved by a manager.</li> <li>Has complete knowledge of wine list.</li> <li>Has complete knowledge of food menu and daily specials</li> </ul> </li> <li>Maintains records (10%) <ul> <li>Properly complete requisition forms for supplies.</li> <li>Member services/expense sheets (chits) <u>are</u> accurate and turned in on time in proper member number order with signatures.</li> <li>Accurately enters orders into the POS system.</li> <li>Trouble shoots POS data entry problems.</li> <li>Punches in and out on the correct time card</li> </ul> </li> <li>Markets club activities, products &amp; services to members and guests. (5%) <ul> <li>Appropriately suggests bar services for members use/consumption</li> <li>Encourages member participation in club events and activities.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Provides quality experiences for all members, guests and staff. (12%) <ul> <li>Acknowledge members, guests, and staff promptly, making eye-contact and smiling.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Act as an emissary of member needs and requests by: <ul> <li>Communicate pleasantly and positively.</li> <li>Greeting members by name (i.e. Mr._______, Mrs._______) whenever possible. First name basis only with co-workers.</li> <li>Solicits opportunities for assistance to members.</li> <li>Responds timely to the urgency of the members/guests needs.</li> <li>Accepts responsibility for problems which may develop regardless of the cause. <ul> <li>Uses proper phone etiquette at all times.</li> <li>Trains new staff correctly and completely.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> </li> <li>Alcohol awareness. Requirements: <p>Education: Ability to read and write</p> <p>Skill: Customer Service Skills</p> <p>Experience: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Previous beverage preparation experience preferred</p> <p>Certifications: Alcohol Awareness Certification</p> <p>Physical Demands: Some bending, stooping and standing and walking for long periods of time.&nbsp; Must be able to serve and clear tables using trays and move cases of beer, wine and liquor, trash and other bar supplies up to 30 pounds</p>
