We are looking for a reliable <strong>club&nbsp;</strong><strong>concierge</strong>&nbsp;to work&nbsp;at the main entrance desk of our club. You will be the first to meet our members&nbsp;so the first impression of our country club&nbsp;depends on your friendliness and efficiency.

Oakland Hills Country Club

Founded in 1916, Oakland Hills Country Club has, and will continue to play a significant role in the history of golf in the United States. Walter Hagen, five time PGA Champion, was the club's first head professional. The South Course has played host to 16 Major Championships including: six U.S. Opens; two U.S. Senior Opens; U.S. Women&rsquo;s Amateur; U.S. Men&rsquo;s Amateur; Western Open; the Carling World Open; the 35th Ryder Cup in 2004; and three PGA Championships -- including the 90th PGA Championship in 2008. Some of the greatest players ever to play the game including Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, and Ben Hogan have competed and won on the famed South Course, also known as "The Monster". The membership is proud of the heritage of their club and consider themselves stewards of a national golf treasure.

Overview: <p>To interact with members, guests, and staff in a pleasing, helpful and professional manner at all times and to supply information regarding the operating schedule and monthly calendar of events.&nbsp; Act as a problem solver and &ldquo;information central&rdquo; for members, guests and staff and perform phone reception duties. </p>
Responsibilities: <h1>Standard of Performance:&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <br /><br /><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Provide club information to members/guests:</span></h1> <ul> <li>Present and on time for scheduled work.</li> <li>Work clothing/uniform is complete, clean and pressed.</li> <li>Maintain professional appearance of the reception area.</li> <li>Give directions within the club or Birmingham, Bloomfield Area.</li> </ul> Assist members/guest and staff with using office/computer equipment: <br /> <ul> <li>Assists with club mailings as appropriate.</li> <li>Makes copies/faxes for members/committees and bill to appropriate account when applicable.</li> <li>Mail is collected and put in appropriate box for pickup and sorted properly when delivered.</li> <li>Correct postage is put on mail, envelopes are sealed.</li> <li>Is able to troubleshoot and place a service call on copy/fax/postage machines when needed.</li> </ul> <br /><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Have knowledge of the phone system:</span><br /> <ul> <li>Able to answer multi-lines in a professional and efficient manner.</li> <li>Call to arrange taxis, limos, assist members as needed.</li> </ul> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Take brunch, lunch, dinner and special function reservations:</span></p> <ul> <li>Monitor floor plans/reservations prior to large events and functions (close time slots/banquet rooms as necessary according to volume of business and staffing levels).</li> <li>Handle any member/guest feedback and inform other managers/supervisors as necessary.</li> <li>Knows club events schedule by memory or knows proper location to readily look up information.</li> <li>Become extremely familiar with all clubhouse rules, guidelines and convey as appropriate.</li> <li>Maintain &ldquo;lost and found&rdquo; program.</li> </ul> <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Maintains records:</span></p> <ul> <li>Punches in and out on the correct time card.</li> <li>Balances cash box on a daily basis. Able to make correct change.</li> </ul> <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Markets club activities, products and services to members and guests:</span> <ul> <li>Appropriately suggests making a reservation for an upcoming event.</li> <li>Encourages member participation in club events and activities.</li> <li>Maintain supply of club activity information, including monthly newsletter and event flyers.</li> <li>Collects tournament cards, date, initial, and file in appropriate box.</li> </ul> <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Provides quality experiences for all members, guests and staff:</span> <ul> <li>Acknowledge members, guests, and staff promptly, making eye- contact and smiling.</li> <li>Act as an emissary of member needs and requests by: <ul> <li>Communicate pleasantly and positively.</li> <li>Greeting members by name (i.e. Mr._______, Mrs._______) whenever possible. First name basis only with co-workers.</li> <li>Solicits opportunities for assistance to members/guests.</li> <li>Responds timely to the urgency of the members/guests needs.</li> <li>Accepts responsibility for problems which may develop regardless of the cause and seeks resolution of problems</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <br /> <ul> <li>Uses proper phone etiquette at all times. Requirements: <p>Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.</p> <p>Skills: Customer Service Skills, Website Knowledge, Computer Skills, Knowledge of office equipment (postage machines, copy machines, fax machines, etc.)<br /><br />Experience: Previous front desk experience preferred.</p> <p>Physical Demands: Light physical effort.&nbsp; Some standing, walking and bending.&nbsp;</p> <p>Seated for extensive periods.</p>
