You will be working on a major sustainable agriculture and construction project in the Caribbean, which is an exciting opportunity to work in the sustainable technology-focused agriculture industry with tremendous professional growth and earning potential. Under the direction of a Professional Engineer, you will be applying basic engineering principles to project assignments and become familiar with the firm's engineering staff, methods, practices, and procedures.</p> <p>This position reports to the Project Engineer and will require working more than 40 hours weekly. You will work closely with company executives, Project Engineers, as well as internal staff to complete projects in a timely and effective manner. Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Manage, organize, and execute numerous facets of engineering projects.</li> <li>Direct project team on a variety of private projects including roadway reconstruction, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, irrigation systems, water mains, bridges, biogas collection, foundations for steel buildings, and more. Also includes site design for commercial and industrial components supporting a sustainable farming facility.</li> <li>Oversee project team planning meetings for the Project Engineer.</li> <li>Perform field verifications, inspections, and measurements.</li> <li>Work closely with document control and field personnel to ensure they have the latest drawings and installation documents.</li> <li>Update drawings.</li> <li>Able to perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment under the direction of a Professional Engineer/ Project Manager.</li> <li>Able to apply standard practices and techniques in specific situations.</li> <li>Able to collect, adjust, and correlate data and recognize discrepancies in results.</li> <li>Able to perform project assignments within the scope of work and guidelines defined by the Project Manager, and within the time and schedule allocations provided. These assignments will include, but are not limited to:</li> <li>Obtaining permits as needed for project executions.</li> <li>Preparing engineering documents using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation software platforms.</li> <li>Reviewing and processing field data on assigned projects.</li> <li>Performing quantity take-offs and assisting in development of client proposals.</li> <li>Preparing drawings for exhibits and reports.</li> <li>Preparing and assembling project deliverable packages.</li> <li>Able to communicate clearly with other company personnel, including Project Managers, Field Staff, and Leadership via telephone, text and email.</li> <li>Able to travel internationally and report to work on-time.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.</li> <li>3-5 years experience in civil engineering.</li> <li>3-5 years experience working on construction job sites.</li> <li>Self-motivated and able to work independently or with a team.</li> <li>Good verbal and written skills.</li> <li>Certification &ndash; EIT or ability to obtain within 6 months.</li> <li>Minimum previous Engineering experience required however internships with Engineering and construction firms a plus.</li> <li>Previous construction experience required</li> <li>Mastery of MS Office products, i.e.: MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.</li> <li>Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is a plus.</li> <li>Must be authorized to work in the United States and internationally.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>What we would like you to have:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Commercial construction experience.</li> <li>Military Service, preferably combat engineering training experience.</li> <li>Union construction experience.</li> <li>Degree in electrical, mechanical, aerospace, structural, geotechnical, sustainable technology or other engineering-related fields.</li> <li>Experience with construction heavy equipment operation, ability to supervise the manager running a concrete batch plant for two phases of this project.</li> <li>Instrumentation, electronics, experience with various sensors, data acquisition, and/or signal processing including wastewater treatment, biogas instrument, and interpretation.</li> <li>Software experience in LabVIEW, MatLAB, MTS suites, Excel, CAD, Solidworks, DIC, etc.</li> <li>Dynamics background as it pertains to structural or geotechnical earthquake engineering.</li> </ul>
