Overview: <p dir="LTR"><strong>The opportunity</strong></p> <p dir="LTR">As we undertake an exciting new project, EPIC - the transformation of our service and delivery model, we are adding an Engineering Lead - DevOps, Security and Infrastructure,&nbsp; to be part of an organization-wide investment in new and optimized technology. It is a revolutionary time here as we bring all ownership of IT infrastructure and expertise in-house.</p> <p dir="LTR">As the Engineering Lead - DevOps, Security and Infrastructure, you will manage and coordinate all strategies around IT Tools; plan infrastructure design and continuous improvements; and, collaborate with various service providers to oversee implementation. You will play both a strategic and tactical role, focusing on customer and partner satisfaction, system design quality and system availability in order to take proactive actions and deliver expected levels of system capability.</p> <p dir="LTR">This is an exciting opportunity during a building phase as we create new teams and new opportunities. It&rsquo;s a chance to work closely with internal and external partners; gathering and translating business needs into technical requirements that will impact the organization from top to bottom.<br />&nbsp;</p> <p dir="LTR"><strong>Who you'll work with</strong></p> <p dir="LTR">You will be part of a collaborative and innovative team, dedicated to introducing a strengthened technology foundation across the organization. Responsibilities: <p dir="LTR"><strong>What you'll do</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong><u>Analyse System Requirements. </u></strong>You will: <ul> <li>Analyze existing systems to ensure they are effectively meeting the needs of the organization.</li> <li>Examine business requirements to identify the needs for optimization, integration or new computing, storage and operating systems, as well as secure connectivity solutions.</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong><u>Recommend Alternative Technologies and Improvements.</u></strong> You will: <ul> <li>Undertake market research and conduct evaluations including Proof of Concepts of new technologies.</li> <li>Present your recommendations for alternative technologies or improvements to senior management.</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong><u>Lead Design and Review of New Systems</u></strong>. You will: <ul> <li>Lead the design and review processes for new Infrastructure systems and middleware services including the documentation for the proposed integration and implementation of any new system or service.</li> <li>Work with the integration and implementation service providers to ensure proper understanding of the IT system designs.</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong><u>Define IT Standards, Strategies, and Priorities. </u></strong>&nbsp;You will: <ul> <li>Determine the configurations and settings (hardening, security, logging, backup, design, patching, platform best practices) of new systems and services.</li> <li>Be responsible for artifact management relating to design standards, templates, patterns, and other design documentation standard.</li> <li>Prioritize and assign services to be performed by vendors.&nbsp;</li> </ul> </li> </ul>
Requirements: <p dir="LTR"><strong>What you'll need</strong></p> <ul> <li>The education. You have an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Business Studies. TOGAF certification and ITIL Foundations (or equivalent ITSM) certification is preferred.</li> <li>The experience. You have 10 years progressive experience in Information Technology including: <ul> <li>5+ years of experience in designing Enterprise Infrastructure Services running various Compute, Network and Storage ecosystems.</li> <li>3+ years in designing, developing, deploying,&nbsp; administering, and managing tools and automation services and technologies.</li> <li>Hands-on experience with implementing three and five year plans aligning technology selection with TCO and ROI objectives.</li> <li>Contributing to a complete Project Life Cycle process including but not limited to: Request-Discovery- Planning-Delivery and Closure milestones.</li> <li>Engineering, deploying and managing tools on Windows/Linux platforms and a minimum of 3 years using Ansible, Confluence, Urban Code, Powershell, CHEF,&nbsp; Delphix, MS System Centre Products, CyberArk, vRA.</li> </ul> </li> <li>The knowledge. You have an expert understanding of tools and automation technologies combined with deep experience in the design of distributed, high availability tools and automation designs. You are familiar with global information technology service models and working with a managed service provider. You have a strong knowledge of common IT organization functions, inter-relations, and dependencies.</li> <li>The leadership. You can inspire and influence a team of junior designers and developers. You are comfortable presenting ideas and teaching new concepts. You can create and follow timelines, deliverables and work plans. You are self-motivated and take ownership of your work and that of your team. You are detail-oriented, organized and analytical. You can innovate solutions to complex problems.</li> <li>The <span class=" WCE1 ">relationship-building</span> experience. You are comfortable working with individuals at any level.
