Overview: <h2><strong>The opportunity</strong></h2> <p dir="LTR">As we undertake an exciting new project, EPIC - the transformation of our service and delivery model, we are adding an Engineering Lead, Network to be part of an organization-wide investment in new and optimized technology. It is a revolutionary time here as we bring all ownership of IT infrastructure and expertise in-house.</p> <p dir="LTR">As the Engineering Lead, Network you will manage all strategies around F5 Load Balancing and CISCO networks, design layered systems for resilience in a Nexxus platform and plan continuous improvement. You will prepare, gather and translate technical requirements into cloud-based infrastructure solution designs that align with business needs - positively impacting the organization from bottom to top. You will play both a strategic and tactical role, focusing on customer and partner satisfaction, system design quality and system availability resulting in a better, faster, more flexible and more reliable platform for our digital <span class=" WCE1 ">transformation.&nbsp;</span></p> <p dir="LTR">This is an exciting opportunity as you plan the capabilities of infrastructure as code, empower a team, mentor junior members, and work across peer groups. Responsibilities: <h2><strong>What you'll do</strong></h2> <ul> <li><strong><u>Analyse System Requirements. </u></strong>You will: <ul> <li>Analyze existing network systems to ensure they are effectively meeting the needs of the organization.</li> <li>Examine business requirements to identify the needs for optimization, integration or new computing, storage and operating systems, as well as secure connectivity solutions.</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong><u>Recommend Alternative Technologies and Improvements.</u></strong> You will: <ul> <li>Undertake market research and conduct evaluations including Proof of Concepts of new technologies.</li> <li>Present your recommendations for alternative technologies or improvements to senior management.</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong><u>Lead Design and Review of New Systems</u></strong>. You will: <ul> <li>Lead the design and review processes for new Infrastructure systems and network services including the documentation for the proposed integration and implementation of any new system or service.</li> <li>Work with the integration and implementation service providers to ensure proper understanding of the IT system designs.</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong><u>Define IT Standards, Strategies, and Priorities.</u></strong> You will: <ul> <li>Design and oversee technology specific operations.</li> <li>Develop and document standard operating procedures, management of technology licenses and asset management.</li> <li>Prioritize and assign services to be performed by vendors.</li> <li>Evaluate OTPP and vendor operations performance.</li> </ul> </li> </ul>
Requirements: <h2><strong>What you'll need</strong></h2> <ul> <li>The education. You have a college diploma in Network Design or an undergraduate degree in Computer Science. You have CCNA, CCNP and F5 certifications</li> <li>The experience. You have 7-10 years of progressive experience in network planning, design and implementation including: <ul> <li>5+ years of experience in designing Enterprise Infrastructure Services running various Compute, Network and Storage ecosystems.</li> <li>3+ years in designing, developing, deploying, administering, and managing network technologies and services.</li> <li>Hands-on experience implementing 3-year and 5-year plans aligning technology selection with TCO and ROI objectives.</li> <li>Engineering, deploying and managing tools on Windows/Linux platforms and a minimum of 3 years using CISCO, CheckPoint, Aruba, RiverBed, RSA, Infoblox and F5, SolarWinds, and Juniper.</li> </ul> </li> <li>The knowledge. You are familiar with global information technology service models and working with a managed service provider. You have a strong understanding of common IT organization functions, inter-relations, and dependencies. You are a go-to expert for your peers and stakeholders, a top trouble-shooter and careful change planner.</li> <li>The leadership. You can inspire, empower and influence a team of junior designers and developers. You are comfortable presenting ideas and teaching new concepts. You can create and follow timelines, deliverables and work plans. You are self-motivated and take ownership of your work and that of your team. You are detail-oriented, organized and analytical. You can innovate solutions to complex problems.</li> <li>The <span class=" WCE1 ">relationship-building</span> experience. You are comfortable working with individuals at any level.
