Overview: <h2><strong>The opportunity</strong></h2> <p dir="LTR">We are adding a Senior Project Manager, to be part of an organization-wide investment in new and optimized technology.</p> <p dir="LTR">Reporting to the Portfolio Director, you will plan, manage and direct the implementation and successful delivery of multiple concurrent projects. You will have a high amount of influence and be viewed as a knowledgeable leader as you balance the needs of the project, the client and the organization, applying your expertise and insights to ensure successful delivery.</p> <p dir="LTR">You will have the opportunity to make an impact as you provide input, have open, ongoing conversations across all stakeholders and guide work of a team responsible for the execution and improvement of services. It is an opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio expanding your horizons.</p> <p dir="DEFAULT">&nbsp;</p> <h2><strong>Who you'll work with</strong></h2> <p dir="LTR">You will be part of a collaborative and innovative organization working across a variety of departments and interacting at multiple levels with teams of engineers, engineering managers, and production managers. You will have oversight for an on and offshore teams. Responsibilities: <h2><strong>What you'll do</strong></h2> <p dir="LTR"><strong>Lead selected projects. </strong>You will:</p> <ul> <li>Manage projects through the entire Project Management Lifecycle (initiate, plan, execute, control, close) in collaboration with business and IT Leads.</li> <li>Assess projects in early stage to determine which methodology will be adopted, Waterfall or Agile.</li> <li>Articulate business value and gather accurate estimates in order to create realistic business cases.</li> <li>Manage all aspects of project delivery, including defining scope, controlling budget, creating and managing a detailed project plan, establishing milestones and managing to plan.</li> <li>Create and regularly update Project RAID logs, in particular, proactively identify and articulate risks, and systematically update plan to mitigate risks and communicate accordingly.</li> <li>Create project artifacts in collaboration with key project team members, ensuring projects are set up for success.</li> <li>Ensure compliance to policies, project management methodology and standards by ensuring that PM processes, discipline and controls are consistently applied to projects.</li> <li>Identify and manage interdependencies and linkages between different projects.</li> <li>Ensure effective communication mechanisms are in place and manage all communication to team and key stakeholders.</li> <li>Manage vendors through entire lifecycle of projects and ensure all deliverables are on time, on scope, on budget and on quality; potentially manage RFP process.</li> <li>Conduct monthly Financial reviews, including LE, forecasting and accrual reviews .</li> <li>Facilitate problem-solving and control changes to project baselines through accepted change management practices.</li> <li>Ensure all project team members understand the readiness process and train/coach accordingly.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p dir="LTR"><strong>Support development of continuous improvement capability. </strong>You will:</p> <ul> <li>Lead continuous improvement initiatives as each project progresses.</li> <li>Conduct post-implementation reviews and sprint retrospectives to identify areas of continual improvement.</li> <li>Harness wisdom of other project managers to influence project planning and management.</li> <li>Encourage and participate in knowledge sharing activities.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p dir="LTR"><strong>Mentor teams and train project managers throughout the organization</strong>. You will:</p> <ul> <li>Provide formal and informal coaching to team members on projects.</li> <li>Support other projects as a subject matter expert.</li> <li>Train others in the project management skill set, as well as participate in formal training programs.</li> <li>Removing roadblocks to the work and manage conflict resolution, holding individuals accountable.</li> <li>Prioritize and manage workload of project team members in order to deliver quality results on time.</li> </ul> <p dir="LTR"><strong>Support demand and capacity management. </strong>You will:</p> <ul> <li>Manage project resource supply and identify major surplus and shortages of skilled resources.</li> <li>Fill resource gaps in a timely manner, minimizing impact to projects and ensuring LE accuracy.</li> <li>Conduct regular conversations with functional leads to maintain short and long term capacity planning.</li> </ul> <p dir="LTR"><strong>Support organizational change management. </strong>You will:</p> <ul> <li>Work in close partnership with the Organizational Change Management Team.</li> <li>Spearhead change management efforts for larger projects.</li> <li>Support smaller initiatives realize their expected outcome.</li> <li>Anticipate friction points and adjusts project pace to maximize end user absorption.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <h2><strong>What you'll need</strong></h2> <ul> <li>The education. You have a Bachelor&rsquo;s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Network Design. You are a Certified Scrum Master with PMP certification. SixSigma/Lean certification is an asset.</li> <li>The experience. You have experience managing multiple, complex enterprise projects, vendor relationships and financials. You have experience across the full project management life-cycle and the ability to influence work in a multi-functional team environment with rapidly changing priorities under tight deadlines. You have excellent organizational, planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>The technology. You have worked on projects with a range of platforms including one or more of Symcor, Charles River, Quantum. You have expertise with MS Office including Project.</li> <li>The leadership. You can work with senior leadership and front-line staff. You have excellent judgement and proven experience managing priorities, setting deadlines and exceeding client expectations. You have demonstrated excellence in talent management, developing and leading a cross-functional team including consultants.</li> <li>The relationship building expertise. You have expertise working closely with stakeholders to develop effective strategies to realize visions and increase adoption. You have prior experience managing complex vendor relationships that cover multiple products and services preferred.</li> <li>The transparent communication style. You have outstanding formal, informal, large, small, verbal and written communication skills; with an exceptional ability to interact with multilevel stakeholders. You can influence and manage negotiations and conflict.
