Overview: <strong>The opportunity</strong><br />As we undertake an exciting new project, EPIC - the transformation of our service and delivery model, we are adding a Business and Technical Consultant to be part of an organization-wide investment in new and optimized technology.<br /><br />Reporting to Managing Director, Innovation and Emerging Technology, the Business and Technical Consultant, you will drive the prioritization of innovation initiatives. You will refine your client management skills including expectations, requirements, delivery oversight, client reporting and effective communication.<br /><br />This is an exciting hands-on opportunity to make a measurable impact on how business projects in the innovation portfolio are broken down into tasks, assigned and delivered successfully. You will have the chance to gain a deep understanding of the business as you collaborate with internal Solution Delivery, IT and business stakeholders and external vendors. You will spearhead solution design, development,test and deployment processes.<br /><br /><strong>Who you'll work with</strong><br />You will be part of a collaborative and innovative organization working across a variety of departments and interacting at multiple levels with teams dedicated to introducing a strengthened technology foundation. Responsibilities: <strong>What you'll do</strong><br /><br /><strong>Initiative intake, selection, prioritization.</strong> You will lead the end-to-end successful innovation project activities including planning, design, scheduling, execution and monitoring. You will:<br /> <ul> <li>Collaborate with information technology groups and stakeholders to support the delivery of organizational and information technology objectives.</li> <li>Engage business and ESDIT stakeholders to define the goals, scope and benefits of projects.</li> <li>Support the building of project business cases, tollgates and other innovation lifecycle support tools to help validate long term viability of initiatives.</li> <li>Prepare proposals and development and create pitches, statements of work and presentations to the management team and other stakeholder groups.</li> <li>Collaborate with Program Manager to ensure governance support is in place.</li> </ul> <p dir="LTR"><strong>Solution design, development and deployment. </strong>You will be accountable for the quality and completeness of requirements and system specification documentation. You will:</p> <ul> <li>Analyze business and information technology requirements.</li> <li>Outline and evaluate solution alternatives considering benefits, risks and costs.</li> <li>Provide cost-effective, service-oriented benefits to stakeholders.</li> <li>Research and propose the adoption of new or enhanced standards based on key themes.</li> <li>Conduct market-scan analysis and recommendations for specific innovation projects.</li> <li>Manage staffing and associated budgets at the project level.</li> <li>Support implementation and testing team members.</li> <li>Ensure information technology policies and standards are met.</li> <li>Implement right-sized delivery models to support the execution of innovation projects according to requirements, risks, capabilities, skills and value realization time horizons.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p dir="LTR"><strong>Manage relationships.</strong> You will:</p> <ul> <li>Recommend solutions to clients in consultation with other partners. You will consult across a diverse group of key stakeholders, incorporating the assessment of general best practices, opposing opinions and industry standards to provide sound recommendations and group consensus, when required.</li> <li>Identify potential external vendor solutions for business requirements. You will own contract management processes with partners, third-party vendors and suppliers to deliver on the portfolio and program priorities.</li> </ul> <p dir="LTR"><strong>Knowledge transfer. </strong>You will:</p> <ul> <li>Champion, own and drive the continuous improvement of requirements processes and practices.</li> <li>Contribute to a high performing atmosphere and positive work environment through respect and communication.</li> <li>Support the Business Advisory Panel (BPA) activities including stakeholder engagement, reporting, communication, meeting preparation and action tracking.&nbsp;</li> </ul>
Requirements: <h4><strong>What you'll need</strong></h4> <ul> <li>The education. You have an undergraduate degree and PMP Certification. Lean/SixSigma certification is preferred.</li> <li>The experience. You have 10+ years in client management with at least 5 years serving as a Business Analyst developing innovation business cases and supporting the delivery of investment management or capital market solutions. You have in-depth understanding of the innovation lifecycle,&nbsp; governance and policies, project control processes, roles and responsibilities and experience-based knowledge of: <ul> <li>How to create value for clients, manage demand and associated delivery processes.</li> <li>Process improvement frameworks e.g. LEAN.</li> <li>Leading solution delivery methods including project management practices and Agile Software development methods.</li> <li>Data operations, data management, securities database technology and/or analytical applications within an established financial services or investment fund management institution.</li> <li>Investment industry and capital markets experience, including multi-strategy, multi-asset exposure.</li> <li>Emerging tech/innovation topics especially Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Robotic Process Automation, Blockchain is highly desirable.</li> </ul> </li> <li>The leadership. You can work with senior leadership and front-line staff. You have excellent judgement and proven experience managing priorities, setting deadlines and exceeding client expectations. You have demonstrated excellence in talent management, developing and leading senior data management professionals and experts.</li> <li>The project management skills. You are highly detail oriented and meticulous with a design-forward approach. Your focus is accomplishing every milestone while ensuring processes are followed and issues are proactively dealt with.</li> <li>The relationship building expertise. You have expertise working closely with internal and external stakeholders to elicit, understand, document and communicate requirements. You have prior experience evaluating RPS and RFIS.</li> <li>The transparent communication style. You can document and convert business needs into technical requirements. You can&nbsp; take very complex data and concepts and make them understandable and actionable by both business and technical professionals. You are an outstanding communicator in formal, informal, large, small, verbal and written communications. You can effectively influence and work with people at all levels.
