Responsibilities: <p><strong>The opportunity </strong></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Reporting to the Program and Operations Manager, we are looking for a Data Analytics Specialist who wants to make a difference in the way our clients use our core product, GridOS. This is an opportunity to find the value hidden in the raw data generated through the use of our product and transform it in a way that will positively impact the lives of our clients.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">You will focus on:</span></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Statistical analysis to determine if there are underlying technical or physical problems in our clients&rsquo; grid.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Integrating our data set with the client&rsquo;s existing data set to understand power consumption, efficiencies and inefficiencies from a historical and a future perspective. </span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Finding further value in our systems and the systems the clients already have in place. </span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Working closely with consulting team for project related work including building a repeatable, automated process and contributing to product updates.</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Your work will help our project teams at Opus One execute multi-million-dollar projects in the grid modernization and renewable energy spaces.</span></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Who are you?</strong></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">You are a resourceful, curious and driven Data Analytics Specialist looking for a step up and a place to grow your career. You have the technical skills to quickly pick up any number of open source tools or build the analytical tools you need for successful project delivery. You want to apply your knowledge and expertise working for a company with a greater purpose; one that cares about our planet.</span></p> <p><strong>What will our new Data Analytics Specialist do?</strong></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Apply the results from numerous GridOS deployments (e.g., reports, trends, graphs, charts, etc.) to create, update and maintain automated data extracts (ETL) and dashboard visualizations.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Interface and integrate output data from GridOS with data from existing client BI/Operational Systems to produce client-specific dashboards and relevant documentation. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Collect, analyze and utilize the output results from numerous GridOS deployments to develop standard solution sets for Distribution Planning, System Operations and Market Operations.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Liaise, work and support relevant internal Opus One team(s) to ensure any client deliverables, related to GridOS deployments, are completed.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Develop and maintain critical relationships with Client IT and Engineering teams and Opus One&rsquo;s internal Consulting and DevOps team. </span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Create monthly status reports for departmental, divisional and company updates.</span></li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>Here&rsquo;s what you bring:</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>The education.</strong><span style="font-weight: 400;"> Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or another relevant degree. Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) certification considered a definite asset.</span></li> <li><strong>The experience. </strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">You have 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience leading or supporting various big data/data analytics projects and programs. You strive to provide customers/clients with personalized and efficient service while anticipates their needs and quickly follows up on contacts and queries. </span></li> <li><strong>The technical skills.</strong><span style="font-weight: 400;"> You have expertise with:</span> <ul> <li><span style="font-weight: 400;">Databases and Big Data tools like PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, Apache Hadoop </span></li> <li><span style="font-weight: 400;">Reporting packages like BusinessObjects.</span></li> <li><span style="font-weight: 400;">Scripting language such as Python or Ruby.</span></li> <li><span style="font-weight: 400;">Statistical software such as Excel, SPSS, SAS.</span></li> <li><span style="font-weight: 400;">Data visualization and dashboards in tools like Splunk, Tableau.</span></li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>The communication skills.</strong><span style="font-weight: 400;"> You have excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills. You can create comprehensive internal and client-facing documents, reports and presentations. You can work with internal and external clients at any level; translating technical to non-technical and building a trusting relationship.</span></li> <li><strong>The initiative</strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">.&nbsp;You are proactive in seizing opportunities and eager to act upon them immediately.
