A Designer who&rsquo;s able to build great relationships with subject matter experts and convert their knowledge of energy and power systems into actionable designs. Or, you might be at a late-stage startup where you are the one-stop-shop for design from wireframing to graphics; taking requirements to functional prototypes. Responsibilities: <p><strong>We need a UI/UX Designer who can:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Collaborate - You will work closely with the engineering team to define requirements and understand the needs of the utilities sector.</li> <li>Champion - You will provide thought leadership around balancing functional demands with a creative presentation; technical needs with practical experience.</li> <li>Design - You will design intuitive interfaces, logical task work flows and responsive layouts that meet the needs and vision of the Utilities sector and the average consumer.</li> <li>Create - You will provide insights and create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and sitemaps to effectively communicate interaction. You will present concepts that are scalable.</li> <li>Influence - You will present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and stakeholders. You will be the voice of the consumer, focused on optimizing how users experience our web application.</li> <li>Promote - You will research, establish and promote design guidelines, emerging technologies, best - current - usability practices and accessibility standards.</li> <li>Get it done - You will execute all stages of all visual design. From converting business ideas to functional design. From concept to final hand-off to engineering.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>What you bring:</strong></p> <ul> <li>A post-secondary degree. You have a degree in digital design, interaction design, communications or similar as it relates to your training in UI/UX design.</li> <li>3-5 years experience. Your focus is on UI and UX design that simplifies complex software solutions and engages the end-user.</li> <li>An innovative approach. Your problem solving is reflective of your creative thinking. You can design user flows, wireframes, prototypes, site maps and visual designs.</li> <li>Translation skills. You have the ability to translate technical requirements into high-quality, professional, engaging interfaces.</li> <li>Strong technical skills. You have expertise in a range of modern design tools including Sketch, InVision, Framer, Azure as well as tried and true graphics tools such as the Adobe suite of products. Nice to have: knowledge of CSS and SVG.</li> <li>An eye for quality design. You have an in-depth understanding of design principles and ability to create a product strategy and envision interaction between web application and end-user.</li> <li>Motivation. You want to create an engaging experience driven by a passion for end-result and the end-user display.
