Overview: <p>We are seeking to hire a <strong>Data Scientist </strong>to join an extraordinary team. This position is remote but being in the Western US is preferred.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Provide feedback on data quality in relation to statistical needs.</li> <li>Work on cross-functional teams, to define, develop, and drive predictive analytics capabilities as related to machine performance metrics.</li> <li>Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets to develop a reporting framework, to be converted into automated reports.</li> <li>Filter and &ldquo;clean&rdquo; data, review data reports and performance indicators to identify data collection needs and improvements</li> <li>Work with product experts to define and apply new queries as related to the product and known faults, expanding the product fault database.</li> <li>Develop analytics-based models that assist in predicting machine performance and machine failure.</li> <li>Track and manage machine performance metrics to identify and prioritize improvement efforts across the Services organization, with emphasis on predictive analytics.</li> <li>Work with database administrator to improve database functionality and efficiency.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field. Evidence of continuous professional development within a relevant discipline.</li> <li>Working knowledge of python, R, Hadoop/Hadoop Spark, ScyPi, Pandas, PostgreSQL, and data mining.</li> <li>5 years of experience as data scientist/analyst with technical expertise in data models, database design and development, data mining, and segmentation techniques.</li> <li>Strong Excel and PowerPoint experience (Financial applications, data compilation, and aggregation) to include experience with VBA and macro programming in Excel.</li> <li>Experience with reporting packages (Business Objects, other), databases (SQL, other), and programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks).</li> <li>Strong analytical skills with the proven ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information, with focus on detail and accuracy.</li> <li>Experience of working internationally is a plus.</li> <li>Experience with software development and integration process through a development lifecycle in an Agile development environment.</li> <li>Application development and communication between applications in large distributed networks, and cloud applications is a must.</li> <li>Portfolio or past applications/work from Github or other relevant repository to be reviewed upon application.</li> </ul>
