Overview: This position must&nbsp;be able to perform the essential functions below.&nbsp;The Technician works under close supervision, performing the essential functions at an adequate level.&nbsp;
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Observe and follow&nbsp;Ormat&rsquo;s&nbsp;environmental and operational rules,&nbsp;procedures&nbsp;and guidelines.</li> <li>Strictly adhere to and enforce safety procedures as required by ORMAT, CAPP, and OSHA.</li> <li>Responsible for welding and fabrication of pipe spools, flanges, fittings and structural items.</li> <li>Troubleshoot, repair and maintain mechanical equipment as required to support plant operations.</li> <li>Perform routine and&nbsp;preventative maintenance tasks.</li> <li>Provide recommendations for improvements.</li> <li>Must be able to operate a vehicle in a safe manner, enter and exit vehicle without assistance, remain alert while driving for continuous period of time and read and understand maps.</li> <li>Must be able to operate a forklift, crane, rig loads and/or a backhoe.</li> <li>Must be able to work weekends and holidays when necessary.</li> <li>Must be able to work overtime as required.</li> <li>Must be able to travel extensively to other locations, including rural&nbsp;areas to work on other projects.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong><u>OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Perform environmental&nbsp;and general housekeeping duties.</li> <li>Attend Monthly&nbsp;Safety and Maintenance training.</li> <li>Ability to respond to emergency calls.</li> <li>Provide coaching and guidance to junior Mechanical Maintenance Technicians.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Process work orders, assist in inventory, and requisitioning of parts and supplies.</li> <li>Search for and eliminate organizational weaknesses and jobsite conditions that create conditions for error.&nbsp;</li> <li>Periodically observe fellow maintenance technicians while performing work activities to ensure proper procedures, techniques, and safety guidelines are being followed.&nbsp;</li> <li>Participate in regular training to improve performance, acquire professional licenses, and maintain certification required by Ormat and government regulations.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Perform other duties as directed.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>The ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the areas of assignment as would be acquired in three to four years of high school.</li> <li>One (1) year of experience in mechanical maintenance or other relevant field.</li> <li>Hands-on experience in operations, maintenance and project implementation related to power production, turbine-generators, and auxiliary equipment.&nbsp;</li> <li>The ability to read technical documentation such as piping and instrumentation diagrams, one-line diagrams, and design and analysis reports.&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to methodically troubleshoot mechanical equipment and systems.&nbsp;</li> <li>Must have the ability to read, write and speak English at a level that will permit the employee to understand and communicate information in a manner that will enable the employee to safely and efficiently perform the job duties.</li> <li>Must be able to use and acquire knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spread sheets,&nbsp;database&nbsp;and presentation. Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and use of the Internet.</li> <li>Must possess at any time a valid driver&rsquo;s license with a driving record acceptable to&nbsp;ORMAT&rsquo;s auto insurance carrier.</li> <li>Must be able to operate a vehicle in a safe manner.</li> <li>May be required to obtain a Class B or&nbsp;Class A CDL &ndash; Tank Endorsement.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong><u>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>The ability to lift&nbsp;a minimum of 20 pounds in awkward positions and 75 pounds from the floor to the waist.</li> <li>Must be able to climb ladders, climb to and work&nbsp;off of&nbsp;elevated&nbsp;platforms, ladders and walkways.</li> <li>Must be able to work in confined spaces, heights exceeding 10&nbsp;feet,&nbsp;and&nbsp;in harsh weather conditions.&nbsp;</li> <li>Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties.</li> <li>Work is subject to exposure to hazardous chemicals, electrical currents, gases, dust, and noxious odors.&nbsp;</li> <li>Job requires sitting and/or standing for long periods of time with moderate&nbsp;bending, stooping, and kneeling.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>Additional information</strong></p> <p>All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.</p>
