Overview: <br /> This position is responsible for assisting in geologic evaluations of geothermal systems to support world-class exploration, development, and operations of geothermal resources globally. An individual in this role will work in a world-class collaborative and multi-disciplinary environment.<br /> <br />
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Maintains a safe work place and takes responsibility for safety with the goal of zero incidents</li> <li>Performs a variety of tasks with a capability to work independently or within a team environment. Completes work assignments with suitable levels of supervision.</li> <li>Acts in a dependable manner and uses sound judgement in all activities.</li> <li>Possesses a high willingness to receive coaching, mentoring and training to continually improve</li> <li>Prepares technical insights in a suitable communication method such as reports and presentations with accurate use of company tools, templates and standards</li> <li>Manages data and information in a manner that is consistent with company systems and processes</li> <li>Researches prospect characteristics, including rock types, alteration, geothermal surface manifestations</li> <li>Mines data existing drilling information, including temperature, pressure, flow tests, lithology, etc.</li> <li>Maps surface and subsurface geology</li> <li>Builds 3D geologic models and analyzes data to improve geologic understanding</li> <li>Targets wells for exploration and/or development drilling</li> <li>Generates new prospects and play concepts</li> <li>Assesses new opportunities for acquisition and communicates recommendations to management</li> <li>Collects fluid samples for analysis, oversees well logging operations, and assists engineers with flow tests</li> <li>Protects the environment by complying with federal, state, and local regulations and follows best practices</li> <li>Uses cutting-edge technology and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives</li> </ul> <br /> OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES<br /> <ul> <li>Other duties and projects as assigned by management</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Must be working toward a Bachelor of Science in a relevant geoscience subject and be working toward a Master&rsquo;s or Doctorate degree in a relevant geoscience subject with an expected graduation date before Summer 2026</li> <li>Must be able to use and acquire knowledge of a variety of computer software applications. Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and use of the Internet.</li> <li>Proficiency in technical specialist applications including, but not limited to GIS, ENVI, Global Mapper, Leapfrog, and Surfer is a plus</li> <li>Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.</li> <li>Must be able to read, write and speak English at a level which will permit the employee to accurately understand and communicate information to safely and efficiently perform the job duties</li> <li>Ability to prioritize and plan work activities so time is used efficiently and effectively</li> <li>Must demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness to ensure quality performance</li> <li>Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner</li> <li>Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals</li> <li>A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required</li> <li>Field mapping and structural geology experience is a plus</li> <li>Geophysical and/or geochemical training is a plus</li> <li>Must take pride in being a great team member</li> <li>Ability to seek out and solve hard problems</li> </ul> PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS<br /> <ul> <li>The ability to work in an office environment and to work at a computer, and computer monitor, and use repetitive motion for long periods of time</li> <li>The ability to navigate and work in remote field locations and work outdoors in difficult weather conditions</li> <li>The ability to walk, hike, and work on steep, rough terrain for extended periods of time</li> <li>The ability to safely operate 4WD light vehicles on highways and off-road safely</li> <li>The ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment</li> <li>The ability to periodically lift up to 50 lbs</li> <li>The ability to travel up to 50% of the time</li> </ul> <br />Nearest Major Market: Reno <br />Nearest Secondary Market: Tahoe
