The company has raised a total of $40M from Softbank, Intel Capital, State of Mind Ventures, Viola Ventures, Western Digital Capital, Xilinx.<br /><br /><strong>About the Role:</strong><br />We are seeking a Director of Technical Marketing with a proven record of developing deep technical customer/partner engagements in the field of databases or storage. In this role, you will be driving Pliops business growth by creating and delivering technical engagements leading to revenue and the required supporting content for customers and partners.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Lead technical assessment of new segments and solutions</li> <li>Drive business development via engineering and architecture contacts at customers/partners</li> <li>Exercise creativity in identifying pain points and potential Pliops-based solutions at customers and partners</li> <li>Assist product manager to set technical requirements in MRD, working with customers/partners</li> <li>Primary customer/partner contact for all technical questions and requirements</li> <li>Lead efforts to complete requirements for 3rd party approved vendor/hardware lists, based on priority list defined by Segment Planning</li> <li>Define requirements for customer technical collateral</li> <li>Create technical customer collateral in cooperation with Engineering &amp; Architecture (should manage majority of work on this)</li> <li>First line of support on customer evaluations, qualifications and field/integration issues on production shipments</li> <li>Create demos and support benchmarking efforts</li> <li>Support benchmark efforts by 3rd parties, in conjunction with Product Marketing</li> </ul> <strong>Deliverables:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Technical assessments of new segments and solutions</li> <li>Define technical requirements in MRD</li> <li>Set requirements and lead creation of technical collateral</li> <li>Create and manage benchmark plan</li> <li>Support customers through technical requirements of evaluation and ramp of product</li> <li>Assist with business development through network and new outreach efforts</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Previous technical background in customer solution development or architect roles</li> <li>Hands-on experience in a technical customer-facing activities: solutions selling, demos, support</li> <li>Experience in Cloud Computing, Big Data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, Cassandra or other NoSQL DBs, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Docker, Mesosphere</li> <li>Understanding of ML (machine learning) or AI (artificial intelligence) or BI (business intelligence) infrastructure desired</li> <li>Prior early-stage startup experience is an advantage</li> <li>10-20% travel</li> </ul>
