The initial focus for this position will be to learn the people and the business to successfully contribute to the growth of the company at our flagship fulfillment facility in Savannah, GA.&nbsp;</p> <p>This role will report directly to the Director of Supply Chain and Operations. We continue to build a best-in-class operations and logistics team that allows us to meet customer and consumer expectations by meeting delivery timelines and improving services.</p>
Responsibilities: <p><strong>What you will do:</strong></p> <p>As we transform and grow our business, the Director - Fulfillment Center will be responsible for leading the cultural and business transformations needed to meet our strategic imperatives, which will take our distribution centers and transform them into Fulfillment Centers.&nbsp; This will require developing strategic plans that sustain and enable the business growth and drive an efficient distribution of products across Dorel Sports within the North America market (PCG-Pacific-Cycle Group and CSG-Cycling Sports Group). Of key importance is transforming our business from B2B to a blended B2B/B2C, including e-commerce.&nbsp; Key responsibilities include leading a team that will manage In-bound/Out-bound processes, picking, packing, kitting, assembly with a combined staff of 150 + employees.&nbsp; You will lead and direct all production and assembly related activities in the US, which includes: Operations, Assembly, Production, and actively engage in make-or-buy decisions and is closely involved in the assembly and warranty part of product engineering to ensure the quality of our products.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Leads and Develops people to identify key talents, map succession plans, and build high-performance teams across the organization by being a role model leader and inspiring them.</li> <li>Establishes strategic directions and best business practices for organization distribution and assembly activities, by being proactive vs. reactive to business/market changes, by acting as a business partner and having a good relationship across the company, challenging status-quo, processes, distribution/assembly model, and continuous improvements to promote competitive advantage within the industry and sustain the business growth</li> <li>Develop a state-of-the-art production facility by continuously analyzing and improving sustainable production capabilities assuring safe, high-quality products in time and in a cost-effective manner to attain and retain an industry-leading position.</li> <li>Directs/plans organization fulfillment center activities by making Distribution Center Manager and Assembly Manager accountable for their key responsibilities and being proactive in anticipating problems/issues to implement corrective actions to avoid/mitigate and have the right and proper monitors of IN and OUT-bound process flow.</li> <li>Help develop a state-of-the-art production facility by continuously analyzing and improving sustainable production capabilities assuring safe, high-quality products in time and in a cost-effective manner to attain and retain an industry-leading position.</li> <li>Provides leadership, compliance, and operational excellence strategies and plans for production operations, assuring product quality. Driving a LEAN production mindset and continuous improvement culture, developing a high-performance workforce whilst ensuring a safe working environment.</li> <li>Manages Operations business plans/budgets by tracking KPIs, monitoring area reports, planning/forecasting changes vs. business plans/budgets, considering finance and distribution capacity, being proactive to communicate and to bring solutions/actions, utilizing quantitative and statistical methods for decision making and logistical problem solving, analyzing/identifying risk, costs associated with transportation and distribution center operations to deliver/provide the most efficient possible organization and service.&nbsp;</li> <li>Manages the fulfillment center by proper communications with network engineering, operations, supply chain, demand planning, customer service, and carrier/3PL management for finished goods, product development, and warranty/parts to ensure efficient business distribution.</li> <li>Manages and creates compliance standards documents for IN and OUT-bound shipping, Domestic and International, by ensuring adherence to Dorel Sports and customer requirements and contract agreements across the distribution/supply chain to ensure that our distribution model has the best business practices.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Provides project management and consulting to develop, procurement, implement, and test software/hardware pertaining to Logistics and Distribution by exploring all available tools, such as ERP (SAP), TMS, WMS, EDI, and RFID applications, etc.</li> <li>Manage the best logistic and distribution models by being connected to the market and global office (Montreal) to get the most efficient costs and lead-times.</li> <li>Ensure effective and efficient collaboration and sustainable operations with procurement, logistics, production planning, and product engineering. Assuring and controlling product quality by operational excellence, applying for the best-in-class assembly principles, processes, technologies, and people management.</li> <li>Control and manage PCG and CSG inventory by having good internal controls in place and good product organization to comply with the Accounting circle inventory policies and external audit procedures.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>Qualifying Essential Skills:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree</li> <li>10-15 years&rsquo; experience managing teams/people</li> <li>Ability to analyze a supply chain and find risks</li> <li>Five years on leading Sr. Managers and developing people and organization</li> <li>Ability/Experience identify opportunities to improve</li> <li>Excellent planning and project management skills</li> <li>Proven knowledge of performance evaluation metrics</li> <li>Computer skills in SAP or similar ERP program, and -Windows-Excel-Word-Access.</li> <li>Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.</li> <li>Demonstrated success innovating solutions to increase productivity and profitability</li> <li>Must be organized with good follow up skills and an effective communicator both up and down the organization.</li> <li>Knowledge of dangerous goods shipping regulations and all other Distribution / Operations regulations</li> <li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Beneficial Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>MBA</li> <li>Experience with SAP</li> <li>Six sigma process improvement frameworks</li> </ul>
