Responsibilities: <p>In this role working alongside caring, dedicated, and experienced Medical leadership, the Attending Physician will report to the Senior Vice President of Medical Services, and is responsible for the delivery of appropriate, adequate, compassionate and quality medical care of assigned residents in coordination with other members of the health care team.</p> <p>The Key Responsibilities Will Include:</p> <ul> <li>Capable and competent to examine residents and deliver quality care in varied settings to include subacute, long term, rehab and outpatient care</li> <li>Ability to order diagnostic workups and tests and timely completion of medical records and discharge summaries in a timely manner</li> <li>Assist in resident/patient/family education and re-examine, re-evaluate and modify care plans as necessary, including maintaining proper documentation in resident charts</li> <li>Prescribe medication as necessary</li> <li>Review all diagnostic testing results and make recommendations to findings</li> <li>Ensure Encounter forms are completed accurately and in a timely manner</li> <li>Educate and supervisor rotating medical and physician assistant students</li> <li>Participate in on call monthly/weekend medical coverage</li> <li>Maintain continual medical education credits</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Two (2) or more years of experience as an Attending Physician in a hospital with a geriatric population; or within a nursing home environment</li> <li>A medical degree from an accredited medical school</li> <li>Board certification (or eligibility) in a primary care specialty</li> <li>Completion of residency in Internal Medicine</li> <li>Eligibility for hospital admitting privileges</li> <li>Clean and active license to practice medicine in New York State</li> <li>Proficient in SigmaCare or another EMR (Electronic Medical Record) software</li> </ul>
