As such, we welcome talented individuals that have a variety of perspectives, backgrounds, and industry experience who will contribute to the success of our One Parkland team.</p> <p><strong>Position Title: Paralegal - Real Estate</strong></p> <p><strong>Team and Location: Legal - Calgary, AB or Montreal, QC preferred</strong></p> <p><strong>Minimum Starting Salary from: $&nbsp;75,000 /year</strong></p> <p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p> <p>As a key member of our Legal team supporting Commercial Real Estate (CRE), and working independently, the Paralegal, Real Estate will be responsible for drafting, managing and tracking real estate agreements across Canada (all fuel and c-store brands), including Quebec, and will be the primary interface with Canada CRE team with respect to day-to-day issues arising from such agreements and Canada&rsquo;s CRE portfolio, working closely with the Legal Team. The Paralegal, Real Estate will also be responsible for special projects related to CRE transactions across Canada assigned to him/her by internal legal counsels as well as the CRE team. Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Act as the Legal Team front-line service provider to the CRE team. Work closely with the CRE team to prepare all ancillary documentation pertaining to real estate transactions i.e. notices of leases, amendments, etc.</li> <li>Draft, track, manage, and ensure full execution of CRE legal documents, mostly real estate leases as well as ancillary leasing documents.</li> <li>Respond to all inquiries for legal services from the CRE team and escalate to Legal Counsel as necessary. Assist Legal Counsel to provide appropriate and timely legal advice to the CRE team.</li> <li>File and maintain Land Title registrations, as required, in provincial land title registries.</li> <li>Execute specific&nbsp;real estate&nbsp;assignments and projects as assigned by&nbsp;the&nbsp;Director, Legal Services&nbsp;/ Senior Legal Counsel&nbsp;from time to time.</li> </ul> <br />
Requirements: <ul> <li>Graduate from an accredited Paralegal program, with a minimum of 4-5 years of real estate experience in a law firm or in the legal department of a company, or relevant comparable experience.</li> <li>Considering the nature of Parkland&rsquo;s operations, bilingualism (French/English) is required.</li> <li>Knowledge of the fuel/energy sector is an asset.&nbsp;</li> <li>Must have strong analytical skills, good business acumen, initiative and be self-reliant.&nbsp;</li> <li>Must be organized and meticulous in order to meet and follow strict deadlines.&nbsp;</li> <li>Will be involved in confidential files requiring quick thinking and the ability to find solutions quickly.&nbsp;</li> <li>Must get to know all aspects of Parkland's business operations, including transactions related to retail petroleum and convenience store sales and operations.&nbsp;</li> <li>Heavy workload that may occasionally involve working long hours.&nbsp;</li> <li>Dynamic, ability to work in a high-performance and multi-challenge environment.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>Please note:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Candidates must be legally able to work in Canada at this time.
