As such, we welcome talented individuals that have a variety of perspectives, backgrounds, and industry experience who will contribute to the success of our One Parkland team.</p> <p><strong>Position Title: Accounting Supervisor</strong></p> <p><strong>Team and Location: Finance Shared Services - Calgary, AB</strong></p> <p><strong>Minimum Starting Salary: $&nbsp;79,600 /year</strong></p> <p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p> <p>Reporting to the Manager, AR, the Accounting Supervisor is a key member of the Finance Shared Services Team and works collaboratively with finance teams across Parkland&rsquo;s business segments. The position requires strong analytical and technical accounting knowledge to coach, train and support the 3 Accounting Analysts within the team. The scope of the role includes reviewing analysts workpapers, reconciling and analyzing various GL accounts, reviewing journal entries, leading process improvement projects, and assisting in ad-hoc projects. Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Lead, coach and mentor 3 or more analysts who reconcile complex, high-volume GL accounts;</li> <li>Review and approve monthly high-volume GL reconciliations;</li> <li>Prepare lead sheets and perform value added analysis;</li> <li>Review, approve and post routine and non-routine journal entries;</li> <li>Lead Retail AR enhancement or integration projects;</li> <li>Support team in investigation of issues and collaborate with other teams;</li> <li>Perform the month-end processes timely and accurately;</li> <li>Work closely with the financial reporting team to understand and process complex transactions.</li> <li>Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies, book adjustments, and develop long-term resolutions to prevent future issues and errors;</li> <li>Identify process improvement initiatives and actively participate in process improvement projects;</li> <li>Contribute and take ownership of AR road map tasks related to Retail AR</li> <li>Manage the inflow of data related to Retail sites into JDE (Moneris, Global, Brinks etc.)</li> <li>Use various software applications, such as excel, Power BI and/or the DAS reporting tool to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports;</li> <li>Respond to and support auditor requests auditors throughout the year; and</li> <li>Support other accounting, ad-hoc projects, clerical tasks and other duties as assigned.</li> </ul> <br />
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Accounting/Commerce/Business;</li> <li>Senior Financial Analyst or Financial Reporting at a mid to large cap publicly traded, high growth company or Manager working in an accounting or auditing role with Canadian public companies, preferably those in high-growth or acquisitive environments;</li> <li>Minimum of 5 years progressive experience, including a CPA, CA designation;</li> <li>Strong knowledge and experience with public company accounting requirements, IFRS, working with complex accounting issues and implementing C-SOX or SOX controls;</li> <li>Strong understanding of financial statement close processes and accounting matters applicable to public companies;</li> <li>Experience with acquisition accounting, business combinations and accounting integrations;</li> <li>Strong customer service skills;</li> <li>Experience with JDE, SAP or another large ERP system; and</li> <li>Accounting experience in downstream oil and gas preferred.</li> </ul> <br /> <p>Please note:</p> <ul> <li>Candidates must be legally able to work in Canada at this time.
