Overview: <ul> <li>Manage the Private Label, Delivery and Car Wash categories for Parkland Retail in Canada.<br /> <ul> <li>Parkland&rsquo;s Private Label currently spans ~825 convenience stores across Canada with plans to grow to over 1,000 locations over the next several years.</li> <li>Parkland&rsquo;s delivery (Uber / Skip / Dash) includes ~325 convenience stores, with further expansion on the roadmap</li> <li>Parkland operates over 140 car washes with over $23M in revenue, with in app carwash functionality through the Journie App</li> </ul> </li> <li>Proven track record and ability to create, develop and implement innovative Private Label, Delivery and Car Wash programs that will differentiate Parkland&rsquo;s On the Run convenience store brand.</li> <li>Responsible for the strategy and financial performance of the Private Label, Delivery and Car Wash categories, driving sales and profitability.</li> <li>Develop / evolve Parkland&rsquo;s Private Label, Delivery and Car Wash business including analysis, planning, and implementation to align with Parkland&rsquo;s broader retail and store merchandising strategies.</li> <li>Oversee the design, development, and deployment of new / enhanced offers including equipment selection and procurement, product and ingredient selection, supply chain, safety, labour, operations standards and compliance, and waste.</li> <li>Lead category management of the various offers including product assortment, pricing, placement, and promotions.</li> <li>Partner with Retail Operations, Marketing, IT, and Finance to advance category-related initiatives, including pricing, promotions, technology, and operational compliance.</li> <li>Manage and grow relationships and lead negotiations with external vendors and partners, including delivery vendors (i.e Skip, Uber, Door Dash, etc.) as well as third party proprietary suppliers.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>We Offer:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Our Performance-based Annual Incentive Plan, an annual bonus awarding your performance.</li> <li>A share in our success through the Employee Share Purchase Plan and 100% company matching.</li> <li>A flexible group benefit plan that offers health and dental coverage choices to meet the needs of each unique employee. Responsibilities: <div> <p><em>Category Management</em></p> <ul> <li>Responsible for strategy, analysis, execution and performance of the Private Label, Delivery and Car Wash categories.</li> <li>Meet or exceed budget for Private Label, Delivery and Car Wash P&amp;L including sales, gross margin, fulfillment and write-offs</li> <li>Develop and execute plans and programs to support in-year and long-term sales and margin objectives, spanning product assortment, pricing, and promotions. Design and manage programs for both Parkland&rsquo;s company and dealer operations.</li> <li>Develop / evolve category strategy for Private Label, Delivery and Car Wash including analysis, planning, and implementation to align with Parkland&rsquo;s broader retail and store merchandising strategies.</li> <li>Collect and synthesize proprietary and third-party consumer, product, market and competitive intelligence as to be a &ldquo;leading expert&rdquo; on Private Label, Delivery and Car Wash in Canada.</li> </ul> <p><em>Communications</em></p> <ul> <li>Support design of operating procedures and deployment of training materials for new and existing Private Label, Delivery and Car Wash programs (e.g., planograms, inventory levels, site level execution of delivery partner measures).</li> <li>Collaborate with Retail Operations on procedures, and site level execution measures.</li> <li>Partner with Retail Operations, Marketing, IT, and Finance to advance category-related initiatives, including pricing, promotions, technology, and operational compliance.</li> <li>Establish and grow relationships, lead negotiations, and manage commitments to vendors and partners, including branded and franchised partners.</li> <li>Prepare memos, presentations, and other communications for review and approval by Parkland&rsquo;s senior management and leadership team.</li> </ul> </div>
Requirements: <ul> <li>At least ten years of consumer packaged good or category management experience demonstrating: strong marketing, operational, financial, consultative, and communication skills; leadership in defining and implementing projects; a proven record of positive business results; and an increasing level of responsibility.</li> <li>A deep understanding convenience retail, programs, product development, operations, strategy, reporting, systems, tools and knowledge of consumers, competitors, and market intel.</li> <li>Ability to manage and motivate functional teams responsible for strategy, operations, and special projects related to Private</li> <li>Label, Delivery and Car Wash including Merchandising, Operations, Marketing, IT, and Finance.</li> <li>Strong operational and financial acumen, and analytical ability to guide day-to-day decisions.</li> <li>Driven to improve the skillset of employees for both the benefit of Parkland and individual career development.</li> <li>Strong ability in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and other tools.</li> <li>University degree in related field.</li> <li>Bilingualism (French and English), oral and written, is a strong asset.</li> <li>Gas station and convenience store experience is an asset.</li> </ul> <br /> <p>Please note:</p> <ul> <li>Candidates must be legally able to work in Canada at this time.
