As such, we welcome talented individuals that have a variety of perspectives, backgrounds, and industry experience who will contribute to the success of our One Parkland team.</p> <p><strong>Position Title: Retail Contract Advisor</strong></p> <p><strong>Team and Location: Supply Chain Management &ndash; Calgary, AB, Montreal, QC or Toronto, ON</strong></p> <p><strong>Minimum Starting Salary: AB $95,000; QC &amp; ON $85,000</strong></p> <p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p> <p>The Retail Contract Advisor, Canada is a senior member of Parkland&rsquo;s Supply Chain Management (SCM) team with focus on developing a thorough understanding and sustainable product supply strategy to address the complete convenience retail portfolio (supporting &gt; $630M of total purchases of goods for resale, resulting in $37M+ of annual rebates coming from Parkland&rsquo;s Canada Division, as well as driving SCM change in that region. The scope of their remit will cover non-fuel goods for resale spend. The RSA will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the procurement process for specific categories of goods and services. RSA will play a pivotal role in driving cost savings, supplier performance, and ensuring the highest quality products and services for our organization.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Strategic Assessment and analytics of non-fuel goods and services spend:</li> <li>Using multiple sources of financial data, operational data, commercial contracts, budgets, and business partner feedback, develop a quantitative understanding of current and forecasted usage patterns and</li> <li>Develop an understanding of existing procurement channels, systems, variation of processes and transaction flows across the procurement lifecycle to measure effectiveness in meeting Parkland&rsquo;s current and projected supply needs</li> <li>Identification of potential opportunities to obtain supply cost synergies</li> <li>Ongoing financial measurement and reporting on current state of Parkland supply, effectiveness of executed supply strategy, consolidated benefits (Cost savings, Cost Avoidance, Qualitative and Quantitative) and other corporate reporting as required</li> </ul> <p>Synthesis and Execution of goods for resale strategy:</p> <ul> <li>Using the strategic assessment of current supply state, Parkland business goals, risks, financial metrics, market factors and potential opportunity, develop innovative multi-year supply strategy in specific spend areas.</li> <li>Develop detailed project plans addressing resources, timelines, approach across all strategy dimensions (supply strategy, sourcing strategy and contract strategy)</li> <li>Influence senior Parkland business leaders to achieve engagement and alignment in the selection, execution, and ongoing governance of supply initiatives</li> <li>Lead cross functional team activities in the execution of the supply strategy, and as applicable, sourcing activities (Request for Information / Proposal / Quote), contract negotiation, formation, internal approvals, reporting and change management</li> <li>Lead contracting activities with legal (templates, NDAs, correspondence)</li> <li>Accountable for the operationalization of new supply arrangements including transactional system setup, transition to production and appropriate change management communications</li> <li>Closeout of project, completion of all required reporting and storage of records</li> </ul> <p>Post-Execution management and monitoring:</p> <ul> <li>Monitor delivered supply strategy and measure to achievement of strategy objectives</li> <li>Provide contract management support (ensure contractual objectives are met)</li> <li>Facilitate Supplier Performance Management (ensure operational objectives are met)</li> <li>Facilitate Supplier Relationship Management (identify improvement opportunities)</li> <li>Ongoing communication with Parkland business group related to strategy effectiveness, identification of operational risk issues (safety, cost, quality) and issue resolution</li> </ul> <p>Supply Chain Management function development and continuous improvement:</p> <ul> <li>Contribute to the development of processes and procedures that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Procurement function</li> <li>Contribute to the evaluation and implementation of Procurement tools and systems</li> <li>Provide knowledge sharing within the team to increase Procurement team capability</li> <li>Contribute to the development and ongoing maintenance of the Procurement workplan</li> <li>Contribute to Continuous Improvement initiatives both inside and outside the team</li> </ul> <br />
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Business, Finance or Law</li> <li>Advanced business degree would be considered an asset</li> <li>SCMP or equivalent procurement/supply chain management designation or certification would be considered an asset</li> <li>5+ years of progressive experience in a retail or procurement organization with a focus on consumer packaged goods; development and implementation of supply strategy; contract and supplier performance management for spend.</li> <li>Experience with a proven track record of influencing authority at all levels (including senior management &ndash; executive level -1) in the development and execution of spend management strategies</li> <li>Experience with spend analytics tools and/or e-procurement tools such as Ariba, iValua and other ERP systems.</li> <li>Experience in the application of Continuous Improvement principles would be considered an asset (e.g. lean / six sigma)</li> <li>Positive, &ldquo;can-do&rdquo; attitude and customer focused approach that will enable you to deal with challenging situations with integrity, empathy and passion</li> <li>Fluency in English is required; French would be considered an asset</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to develop and execute actionable supply strategies supporting strategic business initiatives</li> <li>Strong cost benefit and business analysis abilities to support others to understand market dynamics and business partner needs including the ability to identify, quantify and effectively mitigate procurement risks</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to assimilate information, evaluate facts, develop alternative solutions to problems, and communicate recommendations to address business challenges</li> <li>Highly collaborative and proven ability to work cross regions and functions to build trusted relationships with leaders across all business units and regions to achieve results</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to execute complex negotiations, formation and contract management</li> <li>Proven project / program management, planning and organizational skills</li> <li>Takes initiative and displays professional judgement in ambiguous situations.
