Overview: <p><strong>Position Title: Senior Analyst, Risk &amp; Controls</strong></p> <p><strong>Team and Location: Finance - Calgary, AB</strong></p> <p><strong>Minimum Starting Salary From: $108,000/year</strong></p> <p>Reporting to the Manager, Risk and Controls, working as part of the Risk and Controls team, the Senior Risk Analyst will support Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system implementation within Parkland. The position will specifically support the Manager with end-to-end process reviews, internal controls design assessments and testing of key controls. Also, help in identifying areas of automation and process improvement. The successful candidate will operate as a value-add business partner, bringing insight on efficient process and control design across Parkland.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Work closely and partner with the ERP/SAP implementation team and business to assist them in identifying and implementing robust internal controls.</li> <li>Lead workshops with subject matter experts and understand the process and controls.</li> <li>Understand and identify risks and map internal controls within the process flows.</li> <li>As required, document/review process and workflows into Visio and other software.</li> <li>Assist in ensuring strong project assurance controls are followed by the ERP implementation team.</li> <li>Lead close-out meetings with ERP implementation and business to obtain validation on processes and controls.</li> <li>Build and foster effective and meaningful partnerships, bring insight, and value to the business.</li> <li>Provide consulting services to management through policy and procedure research, guidelines and best practice as required, with recommendations for improvements.</li> <li>As required, support the execution of the wider Risk &amp; Controls work program, including internal audits, enterprise risk assessment processes and other consulting/project work.</li> <li>This position also offers wider opportunities in 1-2 years within Parkland&rsquo;s business functions due to the strong business process knowledge acquired during the ERP implementation activities.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>University degree in business, accounting, finance or a related field.</li> <li>Professional designation (CPA, CIA, CISA and/or CFE); equivalent combination of education and work experience would also be considered.</li> <li>Minimum 5 to 8 years of internal controls (C-SOX) or internal/external auditing experience.</li> <li>Strong ERP/SAP experience is an asset.</li> <li>Excellent communication, teamworking skills and a desire to work in a high-performing team.</li> <li>Strong oral and written communication skills; the ability to speak candidly to Management regarding audit results is critical.</li> <li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.</li> <li>Ability to build strong relationships within the team as well as within the business.</li> <li>Strong analytical and computer skills, preferably Visio, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.</li> <li>Excellent project management skills with ability to multitask under strict deadlines.</li> <li>While travel is not a core requirement, willingness to visit Parkland locations across Canada, US and the Caribbean is an asset.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>We Offer:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Our Performance-based Annual Incentive Plan, an annual bonus awarding your performance.</li> <li>A share in our success through the Employee Share Purchase Plan and 100% company matching.</li> <li>A flexible group benefit plan that offers health and dental coverage choices to meet the needs of each unique employee.
