As such, we welcome talented individuals that have a variety of perspectives, backgrounds, and industry experience who will contribute to the success of our One Parkland team.</p> <p><strong>Position Title: Hydrocarbon Accounting Optimization Lead</strong></p> <p><strong>Team and Location: Hydrocarbon Accounting &ndash; Calgary, AB</strong></p> <p><strong>Salary: $99,000/year</strong></p> <p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p> <p>The Hydrocarbon Accounting (HCA) Optimization Lead (OL) is accountable for execution of continuous improvements (CI) initiatives that increases the efficiency and effectiveness of services offered by the team. The OL will create, update, and change HCA process maps, procedures, RACI, reports, and models through consultation and engagement with regional HCA Subject Matter Experts (SME), Supervisors, Managers, and Director.&nbsp; Working with a cross functional teams from IT, Corporate Finance, Finance Shared Service(FSS), Process Improvement (PI), the OL is responsible for the flawless integration of new assets and or regions in HCA while ensuring full compliance with required controls.</p> <p>This position requires strong analytical and critical thinking skills, project management, and knowledge of inventory and financial accounting. The role is expected to operate independently with minimal supervision and to apply continuous improvement mindset to identify improvements that will lead to enhanced Client experience.&nbsp; The OL will be expected to provide informal leadership to team members from across the organization and communicate with all levels of the organization.  </p>
Responsibilities: <p><em>Process Optimization/Improvement</em></p> <ul> <li>Maintain mass balancing models and ensure daily reports are updated timely and accurately.</li> <li>Continuous analysis of data, processes, tools, systems, and reports to identify opportunities for improvements, de-bottlenecking, and automation.</li> <li>Regular dialogue with HCA SME, Supervisors, Manager to validate effectiveness of processes and system supporting the Operational Excellence.</li> <li>Work closely with the FSS PI (where required) to drive continuous improvement to HCA via automation or standardization.</li> <li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align optimization goals and drive initiatives forward.</li> <li>Lead and facilitate projects including systems and process changes, ensuring clear objectives, timeline, and deliverables.</li> <li>Lead change management efforts for all projects.</li> <li>Stay up to date with current technology, tools, and automation to maximize operational efficiency.</li> <li>Provide training and support to HCA group for any changes or addition to the standard best practices.</li> </ul> <p><em>Project Management &ndash; New Business Integration and / or divestment</em></p> <ul> <li>Act as a functional lead and/or HCA SME for companywide initiatives and projects (i.e., Nextgen).</li> <li>End to end process review and onboarding of new business units - identify overlaps, gaps, and areas of improvement to streamline processes and align them with standard practices.</li> <li>Develop a comprehensive integration plan - step-by-step process of integrating the new business into the standard practices of the organization.</li> <li>Develop and execute change management strategies to address risks and facilitate a smooth transition.</li> <li>Work closely with the Sr, Reporting Analyst to ensure compliance with all internal controls related to all HCA Activities for any new business or process changes.</li> <li>Work on ad hoc projects as assigned by management.</li> </ul> <p><em>Leadership </em></p> <ul> <li>Inspire and motivate, create a positive work environment, and foster open communication to address any challenges that may arise.</li> <li>Act as a liaison between management and employees, conveying important updates, process changes, and organizational initiatives.</li> <li>Informal leadership to HCA team &ndash; ensure team members understand roles and responsibilities and apply continuous improvement principles in delivery of their day to day tasks.</li> <li>Identify HCA training needs and work with the HCA leadership team to develop and implement training programs to enhance team members' skills and knowledge.</li> </ul>
