Overview: <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">We&rsquo;re an in-house team of three that supports over 200 CEO and executive members from mostly locally founded technology companies. We aim to continue growing our membership, increase our sponsor partners and manage day-to-operations. Peerscale provides a &ldquo;network of peers&rdquo; and programs for Technology CEO&rsquo;s and executives to exchange ideas on managing their growing businesses. Our membership is made up of over 120 tech companies in Southern Ontario, like Wealthsimple, Jibestream, TribalScale, Esentire and Firmex. &nbsp;&nbsp;We are dedicated to providing ongoing opportunities to accelerate personal, professional, and organizational growth. In addition to power sessions, quarterly dinners and a three day annual retreat, every one of our members has access to a dedicated, trusted, and valuable personal advisory board, called a peergroup. Peerscale has 15 peergroups for CEOs, COOs, sales, marketing, finance, human resources, technology, product, and customer success executives that meet monthly.</span></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">We need an experienced, sales and relationship building- tech savvy- budget building-marketing mentor who can get involved at every level, guide us on our path and manage the day-to-day operations too.&nbsp;</span>&nbsp;</p>
Responsibilities: <p><strong>What the job is and why you want it.</strong></p> <ul> <li>This is a place to channel your passion. Peerscale is a small operation, with a current $1.2MM operating budget and three employees. &nbsp;The compensation is competitive relative to revenues. There is room for growth to scale the membership however the real opportunity is to be a core player with a lot of autonomy at the heart of the GTAs established entrepreneurial community.</li> <li>This role is a peer to the Peerscale community. Like many of our CEO members you&rsquo;ve run a business and managed through the ups and downs. You know how to talk-the-talk and walk-the-walk. Without using cliches like that. You have depth, breadth, expertise and charisma and are passionate about sharing your knowledge.</li> <li>This is an all-encompassing role. This is a deeply professional and personally satisfying opportunity. From seeing the connections you make grow into relationships to creating value that drives membership and sponsorship. You want to make things happen, empower the people who join us and channel your own sense of adventure to help growing companies overcome challenges.</li> </ul> <p><strong>This is part marketing, part operations, part sales and all people. As our new CEO you will:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Own and drive our mission to join tech leaders together in a peer-to-peer network that empowers their success. Promote our vision to work together to elevate Canadian tech on the global stage.</li> <li>Expertly promote our brand, generate new leads and close new members. You will:</li> <ul> <li>Deliver engaging presentations and informal remarks to a room full of successful entrepreneur CEOs and executives at regular Peerscale events.</li> <li>Leverage personal and business contacts to engage new interest in sponsorships.</li> <li>Promote membership in order to make the organization successful, stable and scale it responsibly.</li> </ul> <li>Foster a positive environment that encourages entrepreneurial innovation, creativity and opportunities. &nbsp;You will:</li> <ul> <li>Curate value-added programming that addresses the operating challenges of small-medium sized tech organizations ($2MM-$100MM in revenues).</li> <li>Liaise with all members, nurture network development and provide advice to the peer groups.</li> </ul> <li>Be accountable for our strategy, operations, staffing and finances. You will:</li> <ul> <li>Provide ongoing interactions and updates to the Board of Directors, including quarterly documented reports.</li> <li>Collaborate and mentor staff and associates.</li> <li>Understand financial statements and forecast future cash flows.</li> </ul> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>So, what does it take to be the CEO of an association dedicated to tech leaders on a journey towards success? </strong></p> <p>Incredible relationship building finesse gleaned from Sales, Account Management, team building and networking. You can read-the-room and understand at a high level what the needs of your audience is. Just as importantly, you know how to listen and be heard; you know how to deliver engaging content to a diverse group of leaders. Finally, you are running a small business, so you need to be able to strategically plan and prudently budget to deliver both value and service to all of your stakeholders.</p> <p>You have ten or more years of hands-on experience in a tech business with core strengths in sales, marketing, strategy and general business operations. You have been a CEO, COO or other senior executive position in a $5MM to $50MM technology business.</p> <p>You have experience working in a public-facing role, stepping into the spotlight and being held accountable by a Board of Directors.</p>
