Overview: Under general direction, manages activities relating to safeguarding the security and safety of company assets, employees, invitees and others; prioritizes tasks; administers and monitors security policies, procedures and safety programs; complies with federal, state and local legal regulations; and exercises independent judgment in the course of carrying out overall responsibilities and other activities as assigned.<br /> <br /> <br />
Responsibilities: <ul> <li> <p>Conducts investigations and resolves theft issues</p> </li> <li> <p>Coordinates services provided by vendors</p> </li> <li> <p>Assists in negotiations with vendors to achieve fair pricing</p> </li> <li> <p>Ensures compliance of contractual obligations</p> </li> <li> <p>Responds to local burglar and fire alarm calls</p> </li> <li> <p>Reviews invoices for accuracy and forwards them for approval&nbsp;</p> </li> <li> <p>Coordinates First Aid, Safety, and ForkLift trainings for company associates as needed</p> </li> <li> <p>Conducts audits of all First Aid, Safety, and ForkLift training programs to ensure that all the certifications are current</p> </li> <li> <p>Coordinate quarterly, semi-annual, annual fire inspections to meet the NFPA standards i.e.: fire pump inspections, sprinkler and valves, and backflow testing</p> </li> <li> <p>Coordinates and conducts fire drills</p> </li> <li> <p>Ensures compliance with all fire regulations for all buildings and leased spaces throughout the company</p> </li> <li> <p>Ensures that the county alarm registrations are current</p> </li> <li> <p>Participates as a member of the corporate crisis management and disaster response teams&nbsp;</p> </li> <li> <p>Supervises PEI employees working in the capacity of security guards, conducts training and conducts inspections for the same&nbsp;</p> </li> <li> <p>Coordinates and supervises all special events which require security as needed&nbsp;</p> </li> <li> <p>Monitors and inspects all internal and external areas for security and safety compliance</p> </li> <li> <p>Conducts thorough investigations related to all facility accidents and associate injuries</p> </li> <li> <p>Reports all facility accidents and associate injuries to the Vice President of Security and Facilities within (24) hours of the occurrence</p> </li> <li> <p>Provides assistance to emergency medical teams as needed to ensure the safety and security of our associates</p> </li> <li> <p>Works in conjunction with the Human Resources Department to ensure that all incident/accident reports are completed, checked for accuracy, and forwarded to the corporate office in an expeditious manner</p> </li> <li> <p>Ensures that all OSHA reports are kept on file and posted as required by Federal law</p> </li> <li> <p>Provides identification badges for all associates</p> </li> <li> <p>Provide access permissions as need for associates</p> </li> <li> <p>Maintains accurate records on issued parking permits, citations and enforcement of the current parking policy</p> </li> <li> <p>Provides support to all retail divisions in the areas of security, safety, loss prevention and needed repairs or installations.</p> </li> <li> <p>Provides support to all Perry Ellis International offices in the US and Overseas in the areas of security, safety, loss prevention and needed&nbsp;repairs or installations&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> </li> <li> <p>Ensures that all the transport vehicles for employees and security are maintained and are operational.&nbsp;</p> </li> <li> <p>Reviews and Codes all Invoices for Submission and Approval.</p> </li> <li> <p>Conducts monthly audits on all CCTV systems to ensure functionality.</p> </li> <li> <p>Provides 100% support to the Retail Division in order to resolve all issues needed in our stores 24/7.&nbsp;</p> </li> <li> <p>Must be available for Recall 24/7 and must be able to communicate at all times with the Executive Offices, Human Resources and the&nbsp; VP of Security and Facilities.</p> </li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED equivalent; and</li> <li>Two years of Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Military, Security or a closely related field; and/or</li> <li>Five years full-time experience in a security related field performing supervisory responsibilities or highly responsible work relating to tasks assigned to this position.</li> <li>Must be able to communicate in English, Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (preferred)</li> <li>Proficiency in Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint (preferred)</li> <li>Skill: Interpersonal communication, verbally and in writing, with a diverse range of people, including the proper handling of security and safety situations, effectively using time and resources to accomplish security program operations; maintaining effective holistic relationships with those encountered in the course of work; independently solving a variety of difficult situations and problems; assessing operational needs, identifying administrative problems; working long irregular hours under pressure; accomplishing goals by the utilization of the team approach, supervising contracted security personnel</li> <li>Knowledge: Principles and practices related to security operations, safety operations and procedures, personnel practices, administrative practices, security preventative practices, investigatory practices.
