Overview: The Human Resource Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. This role will create, support and implement human resources programs that support talent management, compensation, records management, succession planning and development, employee relations and retention.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Enhances the organization&rsquo;s human resources by planning, implementing and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs and practices.&nbsp;</li> <li>Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs</li> <li>Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conducting investigations and maintaining records.&nbsp;</li> <li>Manages employee compensation, review, new hire and termination process.</li> <li>Works to establish employee performance and counseling of goals and measurements to improve employee performance and expectation</li> <li>Develops Performance Improvement Plans as needed and may act to counsel management on appropriate recommendations including termination.</li> <li>Handles any necessary employee communications to keep managers and employees up to dates on policies, practices and general information.</li> <li>Works closely with Senior Management to ensure a high level of employee morale by recommending and managing employee events in an effort to build the company culture and reduce turnover.</li> <li>Responsible for all new hires,terminations, exit interviews and the preparation and follow up of severance packages when applicable</li> <li>Enforces management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.</li> </ul> <br /> <br />
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Human Resources a plus</li> <li>7+ years handling generalist HR duties</li> <li>5+ years of retail/ wholesale HR corporate experience required</li> <li>PHR/SPHR certification a plus</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>&nbsp;SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES</strong></p> <ul> <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills&nbsp;</li> <li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; analytical and problem solving&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when/if appropriate.</li> <li>Ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality</li> <li>Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations</li> <li>Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization&rsquo;s HRIS and talent management systems</li> </ul> <br />Salary offered will be commensurate with experience. For this New York based position, the expected base salary is $106,000-$137,400
