Overview: <p>Renowned for compassionate care, St. Joseph&rsquo;s Health Care London is one of the best academic health care organizations in Canada dedicated to helping people live to their fullest by minimizing the effects of injury, disease, and disability through excellence in care, teaching, and research.&nbsp; St. Joseph&rsquo;s Health Care London is a major patient care, teaching, and research centre with a distinguished legacy of service to London, Southwestern Ontario, and the veterans of Canada for more than 140 years.</p> <p>St. Joseph&rsquo;s Health Care London is partnering with Prime Management Group Inc. in the exciting search effort of a proven and highly collaborative Communication Consultant to join their Information Technology Services team.</p>
Responsibilities: <p>Reporting to the Coordinator of Communication and Public Affairs at St. Joseph's Health Care London, the Communication Consultant, will support the Information Technology Services (ITS) department, across both St. Joseph's Health Care London (St. Joseph's) and London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC), advancing IT initiatives locally, regionally, and provincially.&nbsp;</p> <p>The Communication Consultant will be responsible for providing strategic and tactical communications planning, consultation, and support to the organizations and their various stakeholders regarding IT strategies and initiatives. These activities include developing communications plans; writing for various print and online communications vehicles across both organizations; providing counsel and recommendations to leadership and staff at all levels on strategy, tactics and issues; and working with media, as well as internal and external stakeholders.</p>
Requirements: <p>As Communication Consultant, you must be flexible; able to work independently, as well as in a team setting; manage complex, competing and multiple priorities; while creating alignment in multiple settings with a high level of enthusiasm and professionalism. You have a cooperative spirit and respectful nature and are willing to balance personal achievement with group goals. You are also passionate about the healthcare field and possess the savvy to navigate communications within a fast-paced and complex portfolio.&nbsp; As an emotionally intelligent communicator, you understand the importance of adapting to your audience for efficacy and can navigate system wide and complex communications to multiple teams within different healthcare communities.</p> <p>The successful candidate must have a demonstrated track record of advanced experience in developing, writing, implementing and evaluating effective communications strategies for a variety of stakeholder groups, with well honed interpersonal and partnering skills.&nbsp; A degree in a related discipline, as well as a one year post graduate certificate or diploma in communications, public relations or journalism is required. A minimum of five (5) years of communications experience in a large-scale business communications environment or health care setting is also required. Experience in translating IT language into easy to understand business terms is an asset. The ideal candidate will have a background in complex communications, involving multiple stakeholders with a large and multi faced organization.&nbsp;Candidates within healthcare are strongly preferred.</p> <p>You must be able to travel between the various hospital sites in London, as well as between various locations in London and the surrounding region.</p> <p>As part of the interview process, candidates will be asked to complete a writing test.</p> <p>Proficiency in French language would be an asset.</p>
