Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Responsible for managing the financial aspects of captive insurance companies, including external service provides, and applicable State regulators to ensure captives are meeting stated objectives.&nbsp;</li> <li>Review, prepare and analyze financial statements, cash flow projections, and substantiate expenditures.&nbsp;</li> <li>Issue claim billing, manage monthly closing process, and supervise or prepare general ledger reconciliations.&nbsp;</li> <li>Ensures timely completion of all state, regulatory and statutory filings by managing all external and internal processes.</li> <li>Primary responsibility for ensuring the external actuarial process is timely and accurately completed.&nbsp;</li> <li>This includes working with actuary, internal stakeholders, and external auditors.&nbsp;</li> <li>Management of process including oversight of timelines and meeting required deadlines.&nbsp;</li> <li>Proactively communicate with all internal and external stakeholders to manage process and provide timely information.&nbsp;</li> <li>Responsible for procuring, validating, and evaluating loss data, loss triangles and all other information provided to actuary.&nbsp;</li> <li>Primary responsibility for recording and analysis of all risk related financials including general ledger account reconciliations and required financial supporting reports, and construction defect and insurance receivable memorandums.</li> <li>Develop insurance and loss expense allocations based on actuary reports, claim development, claim, legal and reinsurance trends.</li> <li>Prepare financial forecasts throughout the year.</li> <li>Assure compliance with internal controls and external audit.</li> <li>Interact with internal departments regarding premium and loss allocations.</li> <li>Ensures appropriate staffing to meet Department needs.</li> <li>Creates opportunities for employee growth and development through internal and external training opportunities.</li> <li>Provides continuous coaching with regard to functional and leadership standards (technical skills and behaviors).</li> <li>Utilizes recruiting and selection tools/processes to build talent.</li> <li>Delegates work according to employee&rsquo;s abilities and skills.</li> <li>Evaluates employee&rsquo;s performance and plans for compensation actions in accordance with that performance.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Minimum Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Business, or equivalent experience.</li> <li>MBA or equivalent master&rsquo;s degree preferred.</li> <li>Professional certification preferred but not required.</li> <li>Minimum 5-10 years Property/Casualty insurance experience with related Finance/Accounting experience.</li> <li>Knowledge and experience with captive management, accounting principles, risk management, actuarial analysis, insurance industry practices, insurance regulatory environment, and insurance contracts.</li> <li>Strong problem-solving, analytical and organizational skills.</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li> <li>Ability to understand and explain complex insurance issues.</li> <li>Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers (senior and Area/Division management, auditors, insurance regulators, insurance brokers, insurance carriers, and subcontractors).</li> <li>Ability to work independently, set goals, and achieve results.</li> <li>Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, react quickly, and handle highly-charged situations.</li> </ul>
