Full-Time

Overview: The Accounting Clerk will assist and support the duties of the Accounting Supervisor in completing and maintaining tasks related to accounts payable and accounts receivables for FRP Construction and QuakeWrap. The ideal candidate is expected to maintain professional appearance, keep work area and all relevant documents organized and manageable, have excellent attendance and punctuality, and work in a team-oriented environment. This position will report to the Accounting Supervisor.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Record, identify and verify financial transactions for multiple departments</li> <li>Reconcile bank accounts through reviewing receipts and inputting information into accounting software</li> <li>Pay vendors and other accounts payable on time and ensure no outstanding balancesremain</li> <li>Assist in the preparation of the company budget to help meet all financialgoals</li> <li>Process and organize invoices to ensure bills are paid and received in a timelymanner</li> <li>Recommend actions to stop misuse of budget and reduce loss</li> <li>Maintain accounts by recording, identifying, and verifying financial transactions</li> <li>Follow internal accounting procedures and policies to ensure financial security is maintained</li> <li>Ensure all financial actions are accurate</li> <li>Approve incoming orders from clients for the salesteam</li> <li>Administer the purchasing of inventory and manufacturing</li> <li>Act as a backup for administrativetasks</li> <li>Answer, screen, and forward incoming calls</li> <li>Other duties as assigned</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED required</li> <li>2-3 years of experience in accounts payable oraccounting</li> <li>Technical knowledge of accounting regulations, policies, and procedures</li> <li>Ability to multitask, prioritize and work under pressure</li> <li>Must have strong computer skills, including accounting databases</li> <li>Detail and deadline-oriented</li> <li>Ability to thoroughly analyze and research information</li> <li>Must have an outstanding work ethic</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li> <li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and clients</li> </ul> <br /><strong>Competencies</strong><br /> <ul> <li>QuickBooks</li> <li>Phone etiquette</li> <li>Working with a multi phone line system</li> <li>MS Office Programs: Word, Excel,Outlook</li> <li>Organizationalskills</li> <li>Accounting concepts and procedures</li> <li>Bilingual (preferred but not required)</li> <li>Construction/Engineering background (preferred but notrequired)</li> </ul> <br /><strong>Supervisory Responsibility</strong><br />This position does not require any supervisory responsibilities.<br /><br /><strong>Work Environment</strong><br />This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office<br />equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.<br />The performance of this position may seldom require exposure to the warehouse areas, which may<br />require the use of personal protective equipment such as mandatory safety glasses with side shields and<br />hearing protection.<br /><br /><strong>Physical Demands</strong><br />The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to<br />successfully perform the essential functions of this job.<br />While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
