Overview: We are looking for an experienced Millwright responsible for updating and managing the preventative maintenance programs, managing new capital equipment, managing and controlling maintenance costs, ensuring safety of equipment, and continuously improving the equipment uptime and efficiency.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Implement and manage continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes.</li> <li>Directly responsible for all maintenance activities on buildings and property and equipment</li> <li>Develop enhance and execute a successful Total Preventative Maintenance Management Program</li> <li>Assist in the creation and maintenance of standard operating procedures, user manuals and training materials</li> <li>Manage a maintenance request program where operators can make both immediate and non-immediate requests. Recording time/ materials and completion data to be trended and reviewed with management monthly</li> <li>Develop and maintain excellent relationships with suppliers and contractors for equipment quotes, maintenance, warranty modifications and improvements</li> <li>Actively contribute to the successful management of the plant processes and employees by nurturing a positive work environment using excellent interpersonal skills, team building and fostering two-way communication between departments, allowing production targets to be met</li> <li>Floor walk to be performed once in the shift to establish how the equipment is running and determine improvements with equipment/ tools / organization and document findings for review with management</li> <li>Demonstrate an active involvement/commitment to a progressive health and safety program by ensuring that good housekeeping processes are followed</li> <li>Demonstrate an active and ongoing commitment to the improvement of plant operations, product quality by ensuring the proper tools/equipment are available and are effective</li> <li>Develop and manage the maintenance budget; report on variances to budget while acting to ensure solid fiscal management is maintained for building and equipment</li> <li>Ensure strong management and development of capital budgets and execution of plans (design through installation) to ensure ongoing compliance to expectations</li> <li>Managing spare parts inventory and organization of maintenance department</li> <li>Manage the maintenance personnel; effectively delegate work assignments and develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities of team members</li> <li>5 s Captain: plan, present plan, train group, audit verifications, tickets (provide structure and implement three strike program)</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Millwright certification: Industrial Millwright Mechanic license</li> <li>Skills &amp; knowledge gained working 5+ years in Industrial plants and/or Production facilities</li> <li>Strong project management skills: example: new equipment purchase; manage vendors, installation, testing, operational repurposing of equipment, creating efficiencies with production equipment</li> <li>Experience leading people; taking the lead in projects, displaying strong knowledge, managing timelines, working with equipment and being creative</li> <li>Strong knowledge of process improvement, continuous improvements, lean principles</li> <li>Effective communication skills; capable of motivating team to best performance</li> <li>MS Office proficient; Word, Excel and experience with ERP/MRP systems</li> <li>Flair for an Entrepreneurial environment</li> <li>Hands on teaching expertise; patient, informed, organized, level-headed</li> </ul>
