Responsibilities: <strong>Department Overview</strong>:<br /><br />Business Integrity Services is responsible for ensuring that Ahold Delhaize USA&rsquo;s great local brands comply with state and local laws.<BR>The department is made up of diverse functions including Legal Affairs, Quality Assurance and Risk Management Services.<BR>Together, this department provides guidance and support to the businesses of Ahold Delhaize USA, including, but not limited to, contract reviews; litigation defense; mergers and acquisitions; labor and employment advice; licensing for all store and distribution operations; compliance advice; food safety for distribution and retail; lobbying and maintaining relationships with political and industry leaders; workplace safety; business continuity planning; and workers' compensation as well as general and auto liability claims.<br /><br /><strong>Primary Purpose</strong>:<br /> <ul> <li>Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the brands to ensure that locations are both safe working and shopping environments.<BR>This will be accomplished by providing the direction, support, and resources necessary to manage the risks inherent to the supermarket operation.</li> <li>Identify and evaluate risk exposures and assist with developing policies and programs to reduce risk exposures through the company (and assigned brands).</li> <li>Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulatory requirements and proper execution within company locations.<BR>The reduction of risk exposures leads to lower accident and severity rates, which have a significant impact on lowering the retained losses for the organization.</li> <li>Communicate to brand management and assist in setting retail goals for accident frequency.</li> <li>Implement, execute, ensure compliance with the company health and safety policies and procedures, and all federal, state, and local OSHA and hazardous waste regulations (i.e., Lockout, Haz Com, Machine Safety.)</li> <li>Perform risk assessments and assist in the implementation of effective physical and/or behavioral control measures.<BR>Recognize and verify the effectiveness of in-place control measures.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <strong>Qualifications</strong>:<br /> <ul> <li>Working towards a degree in Occupational Health &amp; Safety, Environmental Safety, Risk Management or related field.</li> <li>Experience working in a collaborative group setting.</li> <li>Experience using analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, appropriately and effectively.</li> <li>Demonstrated attention to detail.</li> </ul>
