Overview: This position is responsible to ensure a seamless flow of goods from vendor to customer based on customer demand.<BR>This will be attained by effective management and oversight of the demand planning and buying process.<BR>Attain optimum service level and forecast accuracy objectives based on the item/category classification.<BR>Attain service level and forecast accuracy objectives and inventory turn objectives for overall portfolio/category, sale items, turn, seasonal and promotional programs across the supply chain network.<BR>Optimize cost to deliver service level against inventory carrying cost and working capital impact.<br />
Responsibilities: <strong>Essential job functions:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Fully utilize forecasting and buying systems and processes to deliver best practice supply chain service levels and inventory turn performance.</li> <li>Attain targeted service level objectives, promotional/turn/seasonal service objectives.</li> <li>Monitor inventory and manage the daily, weekly and monthly purchase orders as needed to support demand.</li> <li>Manage the complexities to deliver high service levels to the customers balanced with the cost and capabilities of the supply chain.</li> <li>Work with merchandising and S&amp;OP and analytics groups to establish individual item sales forecasts.</li> <li>Review and monitor forecast accuracy and exception items and work on improving through changing forecasting parameters.</li> <li>Sharing and communicate projected demand forecast to vendors.</li> <li>Track inbound sale product and monitor customer orders with objective to minimize excess inventory at end of the sale.</li> <li>Evaluate efficient order quantities at the item and vendor level.<BR>Weigh integral costs against service level needs, to ensure the facilities can efficiently receive while still achieving optimal service level</li> <li>Address issues resulting in non-movement of inventory, process return to vendor on overstocks and discontinued item</li> <li>Work with local merchandisers and operators to address product availability, freshness, and product transition issues, as well as recalls and market withdrawals</li> <li>Track inbound products to obtain optimal freshness in appropriate categories.</li> <li>Mentor, coach, and support activities with Operations associates engaged in delivering supply chain objectives impacting service level and inventory turns</li> <li>Communicate and work with Business Process Lead on a regular basis to obtain information relating to specific demand anomalies.<BR>&middot;</li> <li>Supply appropriate forward looking forecast information with vendors, RBS, C&amp;S and vendors where appropriate.</li> <li>Ensure accuracy of said information and follow up.</li> <li>Determine root cause of supply continuity or on-time performance issues and address those with appropriate action plans</li> <li>Work with suppliers to improve their fulfilment and on-time rates</li> <li>Communicate ongoing supplier shortfalls to Merchandising as needed</li> <li>Work with Merchandising to mitigate when cost effective solutions are available (ordering from alternative sources, moving sale items to different website positions, etc.)</li> <li>Serve as the primary point of contact to address and resolve supply chain issues impacting distribution.</li> <li>Research and resolve product availability issues, late deliveries, purchase order discrepancies, freshness issues, etc.</li> </ul>
