Responsibilities: <br /> <p><strong>What you&rsquo;ll do as the Vice President of Finance:&nbsp;<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li>Primary responsibility for managing the day-to-day financial operations and establishing internal controls surrounding the sales, purchasing, construction, land development, A/P, job starts and closing process for Charlotte division.</li> <li>Fiscal responsibility for overseeing the preparation of complete and accurate financial statements, leading quarterly forecasting and hands-on involvement in the land acquisition process.&nbsp;Serve as the risk manager.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Responsibilities of the Vice President of Finance:<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li>Function as a financial consultant for divisional leadership to identify key financial drivers, investigate and guide leadership on collaboratively resolving issues.</li> <li>The CFO has the ultimate responsibility for providing timely and accurate financial information to the Division President, Region, and Corporate and is responsible for assuring that Corporate policies and procedures, as defined in the Corporate Operations Manual, are carried out.</li> <li>Oversee the preparation of all monthly financial statements for the Charlotte area operations.</li> <li>Coordinate the preparation of quarterly forecasts and assist in annual planning process.</li> <li>Assist in the land acquisition and feasibility process for new or replacement subdivisions. The CFO is responsible for making sure that all potential land deals meet the required corporate, regional and Division requirements.</li> <li>The CFO is also responsible for monitoring Development and S&amp;B budgets to make sure there is adequate backup to support these amounts and to investigate subsequent changes</li> <li>The CFO is directly involved in all aspects of the Division&rsquo;s homebuilding operations with the authority to interact with all departments and to determine if current departmental policies are efficient and will promote the greater well-being of the Division.</li> <li>Implement cost-saving measures and techniques as appropriate for business needs.</li> <li>Review for compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <br /> <p><strong>What you&rsquo;ll need to be the Vice President of Finance:<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li>8+ years of accounting and finance experience in the real estate development field ($150MM+ business)</li> <li>Experience working for a public homebuilder is required to qualify for this senior management role</li> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Accounting or Finance</li> <li>CPA and/or Master&rsquo;s degree preferred but not required</li> <li>Experience leading a finance or accounting team including hiring, training, etc</li> <li>Ideal candidate will have high energy, be highly motivated and strategic in their thought process</li> <li>Experience utilizing JD Edwards is a plus</li> </ul> <br />
