Responsibilities: <p>The Front End Developer will be responsible for technically executing on business requirements through application of development best practices for SECU&rsquo;s web properties. This developer will work on projects including but not limited to building landing pages, widgets and plugins for the properties. The Front End Developer under direction from the Product Owner of the Marketing site will task out a backlog of business items and pull them into their sprint utilizing Scrum/Agile Development methodologies. The Front End Developer may also be asked to assist with updating and structuring of content as needed to complete priority marketing projects.</p> <ul> <li>Defines, documents, and communicates front end development standards, best practices, code review processes, and build tools.</li> <li>Partners with design and strategy/UX to ensure an optimal and consistent user experience.</li> <li>Equally partners with back end peers and outside vendors to ensure overall performance of technology stack.</li> <li>Builds or contributes to the building of experiences across SECU web properties.</li> <li>Update necessary content to meet marketing deadlines.</li> <li>Understand content structure and best practices to ensure consistency.</li> <li>Collaborate with the product owner to improve internal processes around content execution.</li> <li>Partner with creative agencies and freelancers to ensure our digital style guide incorporates UX best practices.</li> <li>Work with our back-end infrastructure providers to ensure deployment pipeline process meets SECU&rsquo;s needs.</li> </ul>
Requirements: What We&rsquo;re Looking For. <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in a related field or comparable experience.</li> <li>5+ years of front end web development experience, including experience with the SDLC.</li> <li>A thorough understanding of HTTP, cookies, caching, and optimization techniques.</li> <li>Experience developing with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX/JSON, JQuery, etc.</li> <li>Proven experience implementing adaptive/responsive designs.</li> <li>Experience working with, extending, and integrating Content Management Systems.</li> <li>Experience with web frameworks that implement MVC design patterns.</li> <li>Expert knowledge of cross-browser compatibility, including tablet and phone form-factors.</li> <li>Competency working/deploying projects with a source control tool; GIT preferred.</li> <li>Ability to work in PHP to make minor edits that impact front end development.</li> <li>A self-starter who is motivated to take ownership of projects and drive tasks to completion.</li> <li>Ability to elevate aesthetic designs into engaging digital experiences.</li> <li>Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual project launch.</li> <li>Ability to recognize and quickly communicate project risks both to the timeline and quality of final deliverable.</li> <li>Excellent communicator, mentor, and team player. Must exhibit the &lsquo;no I in team&rsquo; attitude.</li> <li>A pragmatist &ndash; must be able to balance time, scope, cost, and quality while knowing when to experiment with new technology when choosing the right tool to meet business needs.</li> <li>Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.</li> </ul>
