Overview: SECU is searching for a VP, BSA &amp; Corporate Compliance, who will be responsible for all aspects of the organization&rsquo;s regulatory and BSA compliance.&nbsp; The VP, BSA &amp; Corporate Compliance develops, implements and administers all aspects of the credit union's regulatory compliance management program.
Responsibilities: Main duties and responsibilities:<ul><li>Plans, organizes and controls day to day regulatory compliance activities. </li><li>Participates in various committees, audits and examinations. </li><li>Prepares periodic written regulatory updates for distribution to Executive Management and the Board of Directors. </li><li>Supervises compliance staff to ensure compliance efforts are maintained on a daily basis. Ensures department activities run smoothly and efficiently by providing leadership, training and supervision.  </li><li>Advises senior management and credit union personnel of emerging BSA compliance issues and consults and guides the credit union in the establishment of controls to mitigate risks. </li><li>Prepares monthly CTR and SAR reports for distribution to Executive Management and the Board of Directors. </li><li>Stays abreast to changes (and pending changes) in federal and state banking laws and regulations affecting management, operations, and product offerings. Tracks pending regulatory action and impact on SECU. </li><li>Collaborates with partner credit unions and consortium compliance team members through the compliance oversight committee to ensure compliance across business lines for services provided by Bethpage Correspondent Services and other related areas. </li><li>Identify and discuss organizational risk issues with the appropriate business units. This includes providing compliance risk expertise for the credit union’s projects and initiatives. Key contributor to the ERM team.  </li><li>Works with internal and external audit and regulatory agencies during audits and examinations. Provides information and explanation of regulatory compliance as it relates to our policies and procedures.</li><li>Serves on various projects and performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul>
Requirements: Minimum education requirements and experience:<ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree, in Business Administration, Banking, Finance or Law preferred.</li><li>BSACS, CUCE, NCCO, and CAMS certifications (either attained or in process).</li><li>7 to 10 years’ experience in a financial institution environment or as bank examiner with a regulatory agency.</li><li>Must possess strong knowledge of state and federal regulations and knowledgeable of the legal research and rulemaking process to answer advanced compliance related questions and guide departments in implementing new procedures and processes to satisfy regulatory requirements. </li><li>Must be knowledgeable of BSA.</li><li>Must be knowledgeable about Microsoft programs including Word, Excel and Outlook. </li><li>Must strong verbal and written communication skills, able to read reports, understand legal documents, write procedures, create instruction guides, communicate effectively, and draft letters to members and outside agencies. </li><li>Must be organized and detail oriented. </li><li>Must have an aptitude for numerical transactions. </li><li>Should be knowledgeable with spreadsheets and graphs.</li></ul>
