Responsibilities: <p><strong>What You&rsquo;ll Do.</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>To help SECU become known, valued and utilized, your responsibilities will be to support our Members' financial planning needs by:</p> <ul> <li>Establishing value-added relationships with Members to understand their investment and planning needs and to offer solutions using a total, individual needs-based approach.</li> <li>Assisting Members with identify financial goals and objectives by collecting and analyzing the Member&rsquo;s financial information, advise the Member about the risks, advantages and disadvantages of various investment opportunities and recommend only those investment solutions that are suitable for the Member.&nbsp;</li> <li>Growing and protecting the Member's assets through a variety of advisory activities including:</li> <ul> <li>Financial planning and investment advice from routine to highly complex based on the member's tolerance for risk</li> <li>Legacy planning guidance</li> <li>Protection of assets from unexpected / large scale healthcare expense and/or estate taxes</li> </ul> <li>Establishing strong, relationships through continuous periodic reviews as an essential part of the Member's long-term goal achievement.</li> <li>Engaging and developing the local community while collaborating with and referring business to internal SECU partners.</li> <li>Effectively collaborate with COI&rsquo;s, actively work with our Bank-At-Work database, and respond to our members&rsquo; needs by assisting them in choosing the right products to meet their needs.</li> <li>Following all broker dealer established insurance and securities compliance guidelines, and strictly adhering to all broker dealer policies. Compliance with all applicable SEC/FINRA and applicable rules, as well as with BSA, OFAC and the PATRIOT Act and related rules and Regulations.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>What We&rsquo;re Looking For</strong>.</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Economics, Finance, Business or equivalent work experience in Financial/Investment services.</li> <li>2+ years&rsquo; experience with investment sales</li> <li>Active FINRA Series 7,&nbsp;Series 66 (Series 63 &amp; 65 in lieu of Series 66)</li> <li>Maryland Life &amp; Health Insurance designation</li> <li>Preferred Certified Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC)</li> <li>Preferred Certified Financial Planner (CFP)</li> <li>A professional and credible image with high standards of honesty, fairness, and integrity.</li> <li>Strong collaboration, relationship building and partnership skills to support SECU&rsquo;s team-based culture.</li> <li>Leadership of self and others to include peer development, coaching and accountability.</li> <li>Insure duties are performed in accordance with just and equitable principles of trade, federal and state laws and industry regulations.</li> <li>Strong communication (verbal, written) experience and the ability to work independently.</li> <li>Proficiency with technology and digital banking tools and channels along with a strong background in Office 2010 products (Word, Excel, and Outlook).</li> </ul>
