Overview: <br /> <p><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">The Researcher, Thought Leadership will assist SHRM to achieve its mission to be relevant to all things work, worker and workplace by contributing to SHRM&rsquo;s recognition as a thought leader in the HR space through research. This position conducts research and offers insights to support SHRM's Research departments and other divisions in all things related to thought leadership.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">This position will assist the Director of Thought Leadership Research in project managing the various research streams for the Thought Leadership function, including research, content creation, partnerships, activation, and leverage across SHRM. In addition, this position will assist in creating flagship research studies and projects related to the Future of Work and other thought leadership topics, building on internal and external expertise and data.<br /><br /></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;"><strong>Work Environment:<br /><br /></strong></span>Work is regularly performed in a combination of office and conference settings and routinely uses standard office equipment. Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Assists others as needed with tasks related to research design and execution</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Create and update project timelines, sharing updates with clients and partners as needed; keep track of internal deadlines to ensure team members stay on deadline (&ldquo;managing up&rdquo; as needed)</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Assist research managers as needed with methodology design, research execution, survey fieldwork management, and data management and analysis.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Conduct desk research and produce literature reviews related to current or future programs</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Assist with survey development and qualitative interviews (including reviewing transcripts)</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Request proposals from survey partners</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Test online survey links</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Communicate final demographic targets with clients and survey partners</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Assess weekly status updates and send to client</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Work with survey partner to ensure respondents are interpreting questions correctly&mdash;and correct any issues during fieldwork</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Communicate data needs (e.g., banner tabs, formats) to survey partner</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Work with the project team to synthesize findings and highlight key storylines</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Work with research staff to build data visualizations and identify statistically meaningful findings such as charts, graphs, dashboards, and data visualizations in Excel, PowerPoint, and/or Tableau</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Assists research staff with checking quotes, facts, and data in reports, ensuring the quality and integrity of the analysis, and properly citing all sources</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Support all research and validation activities around the SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP examinations including research and validation studies and other activities.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Analyze test and related data using statistical packages (e.g., SPSS, R).</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Manage large datasets of test and related data required to analyze results of practice analyses and other survey or qualitative research efforts; primarily responsible and accountable for preparing annual accreditation application data sets</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Develop technical reports describing research activities (e.g., purpose, method, analyses, results, conclusions).</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Serve as the point of contact for validation subject matter experts engaged in practice analyses and other certification-related research for SHRM certification examinations, e.g., the longitudinal HR Careers Study.</span></li> </ul>
