Overview: <br /> <p class="resetParagraphCSS"><span style="font-size: medium;">The Specialist, Exam HR Content exists primarily to provide HR-specific expertise to ensure overall quality, reliability, and validity of the SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP including supporting the many and varied projects that contribute to overall content-specific accuracy in development and scoring. This position requires a great deal of flexibility and the ability to pivot smoothly and seamlessly from one project to another. This position also applies HR-specific knowledge and expertise to improve the quality of test items through writing and editing, responds to queries from vendor-partners, subject matter experts, and colleagues who work collaboratively on the exam development team to accomplish its goals. Projects primarily cover test development projects that support the work of the development, scoring, and psychometrics teams as well as item-development specific projects such as reviewing/editing items, contributing to Item-level reviews, differential item functioning analyses, in-platform test-form review, and other projects that build bench strength across the unit and collaboratively provide backup to multiple positions across the team.</span></p> <p class="resetParagraphCSS"><strong><span style="font-size: medium;"><br />Work Environment:<br /><br /></span></strong>Work is regularly performed in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. Travel Required: Occasional 0-10%.</p>
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li><span style="font-size: medium;">Lead projects in the item-development and form-building area of certification including:</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: medium;">Accountable for content quality of exam items; substantively edit and fix item content that does not align with standards or is not correct or sound according to BoCK and as defined by the elements of the BoCK and test blueprint; conduct technical review with subject matter experts of all knowledge and foundational knowledge item to guide content-based item edits and other items, and form-related content reviews.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: medium;">Accountable for content quality and accuracy of items across forms; analyze structure and content of items for consistency across forms and in alignment with quality-related standards; edit items that do not meet content standards; maintain item bank; collaborate with team members to conduct gap analyses and monitor item-bank health to inform future item-development cycles.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: medium;">Oversee item-level reviews and differential item functioning review processes and cycles twice per year to categorize operational and field test items that do not meet psychometric standards and/or content standards; work with test development vendor to update the item bank accordingly; collaborate with teammates to support their job-specific duties and contribute to discussions and decisions that affect the overall integrity of SHRM Certification exams.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: medium;">Manage the updating and writing of the Study Guide periodically; make presentations on various topics covered in the Study Guide, e.g., test-taking tips, as needed.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: medium;">Support the work of the education team, the events team, and the editorial team (as examples) as a SHRM-Certified subject matter expert.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: medium;">Other duties as assigned.</span></li> </ul>
Requirements: <br /> <ul> <li><span style="font-size: medium;">Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or related field required.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: medium;">Must have three years minimum of direct experience as an HR practitioner as a generalist or specialist</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: medium;">Self-directed with a continuous improvement mindset.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: medium;">Excellent organizational skills; ability to multitask and meet assigned deadlines.
