Business Development & Support Functions

Overview: <br /><br />SHRM&rsquo;s paid internship program enables students to participate in valuable real-world work experience through a variety of tailored assignments within their areas of interest and fields of study. Students will also be given an opportunity to partner with other interns to explore a case study that is drawn from our culture at SHRM. Teams will present their findings to their hiring manager and the Executive Team at the end of the summer.&nbsp;<br /><br /> <div><strong><br />Work Environment:<br /><br /></strong>Work is regularly performed in a combination of office and conference settings and routinely uses standard office equipment. Travel Required: Occasional 0-10%.</div>
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Carry out division-specific tasks/activities (as listed below) and other duties as mutually agreed upon by the student and supervisor during the interview process&nbsp;</li> <li>Manage deliverables and provide regular updates</li> <li>Division Responsibilities</li> <ul> <li>The&nbsp;<strong>Government Affairs</strong>&nbsp;intern will work on special projects as needed within the Offices of the CEO and General Counsel. The intern will work with the Chief of Staff, the Government Affairs Team, and the Legal Team on special projects and initiatives.&nbsp;</li> <li>The&nbsp;<strong>Global Development</strong>&nbsp;intern will assist in developing and delivering ongoing learning experiences through conference events, instructor-led programs, and an eLearning library.&nbsp; In addition to these premier resources that offer HR professionals a continued opportunity for growth, the intern could also conduct research and analyze data to gain knowledge of global market segments.&nbsp;</li> <li>The&nbsp;<strong>Human Resources</strong>&nbsp;intern will provide support in and be exposed to a variety of HR functions including, but not limited to talent acquisition, talent management, employee relations and engagement, inclusion, job evaluation, compensation management, benefits administration, investigations, workplace policy development, organizational learning, and talent development.</li> <li>The&nbsp;<strong>Knowledge Team</strong>&nbsp;intern will provide research support to SHRM research teams in the areas of survey research, data analysis, research communication, and data visualization. The intern will provide support to ongoing research projects. Specific responsibilities may include survey design, survey programming, data analysis, and literature review.&nbsp;</li> <li>The&nbsp;<strong>Marketing</strong>&nbsp;intern will assist in the day-to-day tasks related to membership, advertising, social media, content-based marketing plans, digital promotions, and projects aimed at increasing exposure of the SHRM brand. The intern will also facilitate tasks such as creative design requests, in-print and digital advertising, email campaigns, and website monitoring.&nbsp;</li> <li>The&nbsp;<strong>Technology</strong>&nbsp;intern will assist with the support and maintenance of information technologies for SHRM and its affiliates. The intern will work on small tasks as well as larger projects that will offer exposure to various technical perspectives, technologies, and troubleshooting procedures.&nbsp;</li> </ul> </ul>
