Performance Marketing & Comm

Overview: <br />SHRM marketing applies an audience-centric model to its operations. In this role, you will collaborate across each Marketing Audience Segment Team to execute marketing programs and campaigns that effectively position and drive demand for SHRM&rsquo;s array of live, virtual and hybrid events, including our annual conference that attracts more than 18,000 attendees.<br /><br /> <p><strong>Work Environment:<br /><br /></strong>Work is regularly performed in an office and routinely uses standard office equipment. The role is based in the Alexandria, VA headquarters of SHRM. It may require the maintenance of home office and proximity to an airport for work-related travel. Travel Required: Moderate 20-30%.</p>
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Deploy tactical marketing programs and campaigns &ndash; digital and traditional &ndash; across the marketing mix in an omnichannel approach</li> <li>Create, write, and edit marketing collateral, such as emails, banner ads, direct mailers, call scripts, and other materials that drive the audience to action &ndash; click, register, buy, etc.</li> <li>Build email lists, create emails, and nurture leads through written communications</li> <li>Ensure design and layout of emails are optimized, user, and mobile-friendly</li> <li>Execute marketing automation campaigns and operations throughout the customer lifecycle</li> <li>Manage assigned projects including building and managing calendars and timelines, deliverable tracking, and performance across channels mapped back to each campaign</li> <li>Drive programs with elements of SEO/SEM, social media, paid media, display advertising, digital marketing, partnerships, email marketing, and owned channels</li> <li>Partner with creative, editorial, communications, research, government affairs, knowledge center, education, certification, and other internal stakeholders</li> <li>Adoption and expertise in SHRM&rsquo;s marketing technology, automation, personalization, and customization tools and tracking including Marketo, SalesForce, Interactive Studio, Community Cloud, Cobalt, Trello, and more</li> </ul>
Requirements: <br /> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree or equivalent relevant experience is required</li> <li>At least 3 years of progressively complex experience in marketing</li> <li>Experience with Marketo, SalesForce, and marketing automation tools</li> <li>Experience with digital marketing tactics including SEO/SEM, social media, paid digital marketing, display advertising, email marketing, earned and owned media, and event marketing</li> <li>Experience with digital tools to generate, capture, nurture, track and report on leads, conversions, and ROI</li> <li>Deep understanding of content marketing tailored for audience segments &ndash; ability to apply consumer insights to improve campaigns (copywriting, targeting, delivery and performance)</li> <li>Experience with customer lifecycle marketing including demand generation, product sales, and using content to convert</li> <li>Strong problem-solving skills</li> <li>High level of responsiveness and ability to adapt to change</li> <li>Strong attention to detail</li> <li>Lead with bold purpose while collaborating fiercely with a high degree of accountability</li> <li>Appetite to innovate, fail-fast, and be smart &amp; curious</li> <li>Project management including timelines, deliverable tracking, and performance across channels mapped back to each campaign</li> <li>Candidates must have a proven commitment to SHRM's six Guiding Principles:</li> <ul> <li>Bold Purpose</li> <li>Excellence &amp; Accountability&nbsp;</li> <li>Flexibility &amp; Agility&nbsp;</li> <li>Smart &amp; Curious&nbsp;</li> <li>Collaborative Openness</li> <li>Push Back to Move Forward&nbsp;</li> </ul> </ul> <p><strong><br />Certifications:<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li>Marketo and/or SalesForce preferred</li> </ul> <p><strong><br />Physical Requirements:<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li>Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations.</li> <li>Work is generally done sitting, talking, hearing, and typing.
