Overview: <div> <p>The Senior Specialist, Event Experience is a key member of SHRM&rsquo;s Event Strategy and Experience team which is ultimately responsible for the planning and execution of SHRM&rsquo;s Annual Conference and specialty conference portfolio. The Senior Specialist serves as internal lead on all aspects of event registration management for both in-person and virtual events while also supporting delivery of event technology, accessibility, and other logistics. The Senior Specialist is driven by top-notch customer service and remains calm and collected under pressure. They thrive on analyzing data and can use data to project registration and revenue trends. They will be tech savvy and interested in the latest event technology trends. The Senior Specialist helps to ensure all SHRM conferences are meeting best practices in accessibility. Responsibilities: <div> <p><strong>EVENT REGISTRATION &amp; ATTENDEE SERVICES MANAGEMENT&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p> </div> <div> <p>Serves as team lead for all event registration at all conferences, including:&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> </div> <div> <ul> <li> <p>Creation and monitoring of policies and procedures and registration rates.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> </li> <li> <p>Creation of event products in NetSuite.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>Daily, weekly, and monthly registration count and revenue projection reporting and dashboards. Analyzes registration data and trends for benefit of event business.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> </li> <li> <p>Assembly of onsite registration materials (badges, bags, ribbons, lanyards, printed materials, SHRM and sponsor branded items).&nbsp;</p> </li> <li> <p>Works closely with vendors to plan floorplans and logistical needs including electricity and internet.&nbsp;</p> </li> <li> <p>Plans and leads staffing and security needs onsite at registration service locations.&nbsp;</p> </li> <li> <p>Provides training and management with onsite staffing.&nbsp;</p> </li> <li> <p>Troubleshoots registration issues.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> </li> <li> <p>Contributes to all registration related attendee communications.</p> </li> <li> <p>Builds strong relationships and works cross functionally with key internal stakeholders across Accounting, Customer Experience, IT, eCommerce, Business Intelligence, Enterprise, and more. Works closely with external vendors for registration and attendee services materials.&nbsp;</p> </li> <li> <p>Participates in technology integrations and project manages timelines, budgets, and overall product delivery.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p> </li> </ul> </div> <div> <p>&nbsp;</p> </div> <div> <p><strong>EVENT TECHNOLOGY&nbsp;</strong></p> </div> <div> <ul> <li>Supports our event technology innovation including projects such as building virtual event platforms and websites as well as creation of conference apps.</li> <li>Tests projects for user experience (UX) and clarity.</li> <li>Must have strong interest in technology trends and solutions and previous experience project managing API integrations.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> </ul> </div> <div> <p>&nbsp;</p> </div> <div> <p><strong>ACCESSIBILITY&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p> </div> <div> <ul> <li>Collaborates and delivers on SHRM conference accessibility &amp; accommodations program based on an attendee&rsquo;s journey from start to finish.&nbsp;</li> <li>Manages services and logistics including but not limited to American Sign Language (ASL) and Communication Assisted Real-time Translation (CART) interpreters, other hard of hearing services, foreign language translation, mobility assistance such as scooters and wheelchairs, gender neutral restrooms, lactation rooms, reserved seating, and more.</li> <li>Through registration data collection of demographics, dietary requirements, allergies, and/or special needs, ensures all accessibility requests are met at SHRM events.</li> <li>Stays abreast of ADA policies and contributes to making SHRM conference accessibility &amp; accommodation services are best in class.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> </ul> </div> <div> <p>&nbsp;</p> </div> <div> <p><strong>EVENT LOGISTICS&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p> </div> <div> <ul> <li>Will support other areas of our event experience delivery and might include food and beverage, transportation, freight management, budget management, and more.</li> <li>Performs other duties as assigned to support SHRM events.&nbsp;</li> </ul> </div> <div> <p>&nbsp;</p> </div> <div> <p><strong>OTHER DUTIES&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p> </div> <div> <ul> <li>Represents SHRM guiding principles in all dealings with a specific emphasis on raising SHRM&rsquo;s profile within the business events industry.</li> <li>Other duties as assigned.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> </ul> </div>
